Seem to do something wrong :( I tried Dodonpachi and instead of giving me an out of memory error, it loads further than before, but than hangs while loading the rom. Can anybody confirm, that Dodonpachi now runs correctly?

Just wait. it takes some time to run.

Thanks, didn't thought it would take so long to run, graphics are messed up in Mame4All, speed is ok, but this doesn't matter, cause it runs fine in FBA!!
I tried it non chached, some small hickups at the beginning, when big explosions appear first, but after that, the game runs fullspeed!

As far as I understood, the OpenDingux Team managed to overcome the problem with the card corruption, in this case it should be possible to enable writes to the card with a higher speed again, I think, this would speed up the whole process a lot.

do agree with eule - we do need a all in one kernel - to much messing about  :-\

Posting although the question has been answered already while i typed...  :P
DoDonPachi works in FBA, EspRaDe too. Loading takes a bit time though (~3-5 minutes).
Besides some hickups in the beginning both games seem to run fullspeed!  ;D

do agree with eule - we do need a all in one kernel - to much messing about  :-\

100 ack.

What do we have?

- boukichi kernel with poweroff + rtc
- uli's kernel with tvout (i2c)+ poweroff (lack of rtc)
- Menelkir Kernel with poweroff + rtc +swap

and we have
- OpenDingux poweroff (no key functions) + Alsa Sound (instead of OSS, some Apps have problems setting the Volume) + in future: RTC + TvOut + Swap + Virtual Mouse Support

I'm currently working on virtual mouse support for Dingux. It's already works but i also need two new Kernel features. mth compiled me a working version from OpenDingux.

We don't need so many kernels with different features. Please, please don't put new Kernel on the market.

Help making OpenDingux the one and only Kernel!

I think this would be the best for the future.

Just noticed that if you use this kernel, you have to activate the swap otherwise it will get a worse performance than with the kernel without swap. ;)

This brings up the question, if there are any disadvantages, if you work with the swap file?
Otherwise, it would be usefull to activate the swap file automatically, during start up.

Yes just add it to the main script. And I would recommend to make the swapfile just about 16-32mb. I think it will never grow to 64mb. ;)

Maybe the whole 64 MB of the swap file are seldom used, but I think the OS doesn't write the whole file all the time, it only uses, what it needs, or am I wrong? And in this case, 64MB may be more than I need in 99% of the time, but it doesn't bother me, cause with a 32MB swap file, I would only save 32MB on my card.
But time will tell, probably you are right and 32MB are enough in 100% of all times.

I think without any difference, Snes emulation never suffered from a lack of memory. CPS2 shouldn't make a difference too, the chache files for fba are made to avoid memory shortage.

@ Chris

Yes it only writes as much as it needs, but not everyone has a 16gig card so it would free some space for roms and stuff. ;)

Menelkir launched a new local pack.
From the readme it says that it support the tv-out too.

No RTC but big fonts in console, which is quite useful...

i tested it and it says that it cant find /dev/misc/rtc whereas it is found on the original kernel.
