Midpath issue
« on: January 18, 2012, 01:56:58 pm »
I've tried to play some java games with midpath on my Dingoo A380 but it always crashes when I try to open the java.dge. Is there anyone else that has that same issue?

It's the midpath version from firmware V2.00.2 that I'm trying use. The version that came with my Dingoo A380 doesn't crash but it's chinese only. At least that's what I think. But if you press enough buttons you'll be able to play a game and who knows maybe the language is going to change to english.  ;D

Fixed it myself. The midpath version from firmware V2.00.2 is also in chinese but it's possible to change it to english.

Download midpath english version: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/525714/midpath-english.zip

Keep midpath in the emus folder or it doesn't want to run anymore.  ???

Put the game jar files in the Games folder. Java games with resolution 320x240, 240x320, 176x208 and 176x220 are supported. I've tested it with a few Nokia games with resolution 240x320.

Open java.dge. Press the Y button to open the menu. Select 3.Install and press A. Select the game jar that you want to install and press A.
Your game should now be added to the Midlet Manager. Select the game and press Y. Choose 2.Settings and press A. Now you can change the resolution. When you want to play a game in portrait mode, with resolution 240x320, you should also change the button configuration. Press Y to save the changes.

Now you're ready to play your game.  ;)

ps: This is an emulator with resolution 320x240 that is centered in the middle of the screen. It makes me wonder why everything else is always placed on the left side when it's possible to place it in centered in the middle.  ::)

Small modification. This midpath version makes it possible to put the midpath folder in the root.

I made this modification because the Open-Source Emulators shortcut is linked to the external MicroSD. When you put your open-source emulators on your external MicroSD, you don't have to browse anymore to use them.  ;)

This emu is included in the CFW emu pack. The download link to the emulator pack should still be working and can be found in this thread: https://boards.dingoonity.org/dingoo-technology-a380/firmware-v2-0016-with-neo-geo-zip-support/
