Just bought one, still shipping... got questions
« on: January 31, 2013, 09:22:00 pm »
Hi all,

Just bought an A380 on eBay with two controlers. I really thought it would be great to hook it up a TV and play the old games (specially NES, SNES, Genesis, and MAME), but then I got here from Google and kind of learned it will not work like that, but it is still not very clear for me, so I would like to ask you:

- Does it work fine on the TV with the original firmware?
- If not, does it work fine on the TV with custom firmware?
- What emus does it and what does it not work on the TV?
- Whatever does not play nice on the TV, any ideas if it ever will?

Thank you for your help!

Original emus work fine on tv,And external joysticks,

BUT

although they say they were stolen,
I would not know who would pay for them  >:(

The real fun with the console starts with Cfw and it's many full speed emulators!!
They don't support tv out though...  ;)

Built in Fba 380 and Genesis emus are acceptable though,
And you can enjoy them on tv  ;D

Ok, so it mean that if I stick with the OFW, I can use it to play NES/SNES/Genesis/MAME on the TV with the controllers? As for the game speeds, will it slow down to all games or only some? if it can play 90% on normla speed and on the TV, I would rather stick with the OFW, even though it seems like Alien_GrEy seems to be doing an amazing job at the CFW.

I would chip in to some amount of money to see the CFW's emus working on the TV.

As i told you , most built in emus are no good at all
Some games run better than others, but overall
The experience will be very poor

Cfw turns the A380 in a very optimized machine though, so its a must!

Even free these " borrowed " emulators are a steal  :o

Dingoo technologies should have been PAID to include them on the system  :'(

CFW supports the emulators those comes with the console(OFW). 8)
Alien Grey included them in his emulator pack..

CFW = OFW Plus A lot more Minus Equalizer settings in Audio Player

I mean no offense to anyone :D But really the main reason I bought it was to play on the TV with my kids, I do not want them head buried on the handheld. If OFW is what it takes to play on the TV, then OFW it is... sadly.

If it is sooooooo crappy that it makes it not worth to play the TV, I might as well sell it when I get it.

This raises a question, now... does the CFW maintain the OFW emus (that work with the TV) AND adds new emus (that do not support the TV)?

Yes. Standard emus are kept.

NOW we are talking. Great, so I'll use the CFW but play on the standard emus so I can play on the TV.

By the way, is it really that bad to play on the TV? I mean, for example, can I play Megaman 1,2,3,4...etc from NES, Megaman X, Mario World, etc on the SNES, on the TV? Or will they be slow on the standard emus?

Some games may run , some will lag.
Default emus are not very optimized,

But

Of course you will be able to play some decent ammount of games on your tv

The joysticks are great BTW
