CPS2 - Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo

Extract ssf2.zip and ssf2t.zip to the same folder. Delete ssf.01, ssfe.03, ssfe.04, ssfe.05, ssfe.06 and ssfe.07. Make a new zip file and name it Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

I think that this is how it should be done to make the game load as Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

@zipaway

To make CPS1 game Lost Worlds you've got to replace the files not merge.

Ok I fixed those two

Is there any other games you can think of that work or don't work?

It's possible to run CPS2 Mighty! Pang on the Dingoo A380.

NEO-GEO games Fatal Fury 1, Fatal Fury 2, Legend of Success Joe, Metal Slug X and The King Of Fighters 1999 are also working on my Dingoo A380. All NEO-GEO ROMs are converted to FBA.

Okay, Im ganna do some extensive testing on the neo geo and then get back to you.

Oh by the way, how come .zip files don't work as well as the .fba on the a380, only a small percentage of Neo Geo games in .zip work

I like the games in .zip better because they take up less space

I know that Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion doesn't work for the game gear.  The SMS version which works is almost identical but I mainly play my Game Gear and I cannot find any other ROMs that I didn't try yet?

Can anyone post a working ROM for the game gear version or point me in the right direction?

Ya I can't get Mickey Mouse - Castle of Illusion to work either. The graphics are all glitched, well i guess it added to the list.

Try the SEGA Mega Drive version. I could find a Mickey Mouse - Castle of Illusion USA/EU version that works. All I had to do is rename it from .md to .smd.

I know you added neogeo .zip support to the firmware but I can't get it to work  ???

How do you get .zip neo geo games to work on the a380?

I placed neogeo.zip ( the one from the convertor )  and my roms into the a380 neogeo folder but I still can't get them to run in .zip ( i want .zip to save space )

Oh and those games you listed that you said actually worked in .fba, I cant get those to work either ( fatal fury 1, king of fighters 99 ect... ) Did you use the same fba convertor as i did? The one provided by dingoo tech?

I have that version but I was one of those weirdos in the 90s that chose to get a Game Gear instead of a Mega Drive when I was offered one or the other.  I'll use the SMS version, it's pretty much identical to the GG version, which is quite different from the MD version

I'm using this one http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,115 (http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,115) with the neogeo.zip from Dingoo HK.

If a game doesn't work as a zip there isn't anything you can do about it. I convert them all to fba because I got plenty of space on my Dingoo A380. There's enough space on a single 32GB MicroSD to store every game from every emulator.  ;D

Baseball Stars Professional, Magician Lord, Metal Slug 5, Metal Slug 6 (Metal Slug 3 Bootleg), Samurai Shodown 3, The King Of Fighters 2000, The King Of Fighters 2001 and The King Of Fighters 2002 can be added to the working list. All these games are converted to fba from MAME zips.

Rename your *.gg to *.sms and try to run it as a SEGA Master System game. It should work with Mickey Mouse - Castle Of Illusion.  ;)

There's an Atari 2600 recompiled by Pottzman for the Dingoo A380. The download link doesn't work anymore but if you like it I can share it with you. It isn't the best emulator for the Dingoo  because changing the emulator options makes it crash but it runs most of the Atari games with the emulator defaults.

That would be great :).  I'm grabbing some 32gb micros today, and modding it tonight.  I'll report back once it's all done and ready for media :D.

I got a 320 two years ago, and it's been faithful for a long time, but I need more storage space than the 320 can support (not to mention the R shoulder button stopped working, and my headphone jack is pooched).  I bought a Gemei A330 as a replacement, but found that the screen was soft and terrible.  The headphone jack is on the bottom too, which makes it very inconvenient to use as a pocketable MP3 player.  I then grabbed a Caanoo, which has been great, but again, the headphone jack is poorly located, and it's far to cumbersome to use as an MP3 player.  The A380 seemed like a logical choice to me, since it already plays all the emus I like and is the same form factor as the 320 (give or take ;) ).

I did the Dingux dual boot on my 320, but quickly found that I was only using the native OS anyway, so I reflashed it back to 'stock' and wore it out :).

Quick Q before I split from work.  Is there ANY way to get the emulators to run in 320x280 vs. 400x280?  I can't STAND the stretch, bleck.  I don't care if I have to set it every time I turn it on.  I have no linux or development experience, but I'm really good at poking around at stuff until it works ;).  I've already started playing with WinImage (free for 10 days), and poking around the 20020.img file, to see what's up.  I've done some .ini and .cfg editing in the past, on various things, and just wondering if there's something I could look for to alter the aspect ratio.

The Gameboy game Mario & Yoshi doesn't work on the Dingoo A380. I think this is more an issue with the ROM. It loads fine but you can't start the game.

What did you finally do to get them to work?? I'm still struggling with this and haven't gotten one to run yet.  The Mame roms do work when I convert them to fba, but I wanted to try the NeoGeo Emu to see how it runs. H.G.

It's possible that you can't get them to run without converting them to fba. CPS1, CPS2, FBA and NEOGEO all use the same emulator. To run the NEO-GEO games in zip format you need the NEO-GEO bios zip in the NEOGEO folder but most of them won't run without converting them to fba.

how do you get metal slug 3 and 4 to work? do you use the  fba file, or the zip file with the  neogeobios.zip in the fba folder?
i tried the fba files but it doesn't work.
is it important to use the neogeo.zip from the dingoo.hk page or is any bios working?
thanks for any help

It's really strange but NONE of the NeoGeo roms I converted to .fba would load, and ALL of the same games, but taken from Mame and converted to .fba did work!!!!  All converted with the same program and same NeoGeo zip file in the rom folder!!! Go figure!!!! ::) ::)

I have had an INCREDIBLE amount of luck with the Space Invaders games!!! I think that every one I tried has worked!!!
Space Invaders (Logitec)
Space Invaders (CV Version)
Space Invaders DX
Space Invaders2 Taito

I have also got Final Fight (world) and The Punisher (world) to work.

What I can't seem to get to work are any soccer or basketball games I've tried.  I just downloaded a 2gb file of Mame roms that supposedly work on the A320, but not one of them work on the A380!!!! Is there any particular Mame rom set that works on the A380 or is just hit and miss?????? H.G.

Dingoo A-380 Firmware Version 2.00.30

Open-Source Games:

The Last Mission - SDL Remake by d_smagin. A nice game to spend some time with.

Download and extract last-mission-0.6.zip. Make a folder named last-mission and copy last-mission-sdl.exe and last-mission.dge to it. Copy the last-mission folder to the game folder on the External MicroSD card.
Start the game from Open-Source Games on your Dingoo A-380.

Button layout for Dingoo A-380:

D-PAD - Move
A/B/X/Y - Fire
START - Start the game or pause the game
SELECT - Quit
L - Toggle frameskip: 0/1
R - Toggle upscale: no upscale/coarse fullscreen/bilinear fullscreen

Download last-mission-0.6.zip: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,30,572 (http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,30,572)

Dingoo A-380 Firmware Version 2.01.00

SDL Games:

Enjoy your games with the image centered on the screen. Copy your game to the sdlgames folder on the External MicroSD card. Start the game from SDL Games on your Dingoo A-380.

It would be nice to have a list of the games that can be used with SDL Games on the Dingoo A-380. The only game that I'v tried so far is Digger

Download Digger: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,35,433 (http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,35,433)

Atari Lynx:

All games seem to be running very good but of course some of them don't run without glitches.

Roadblaster - Graphical glitches.
Crystal Mines II - Sound makes the game slowdown (Disable the music with the Y button).

For the Atari Lynx emulator you can use .lnx, .lyx (don't know about this format) and .zip.

if i dont upgrade the firmware again , will it run just executting the dge?
i start the emulator , but when trying to start the games , it resets

That's because it can't find lynxboot.img (bios). If you put it right near lnx_emu.dge, it will work.
Please, upgrade firmware as recommended and you will evade all this.

That's what I liked to see. A complete list of Neo-Geo games that don't have to be converted to fba format.
It's impressive. I never expected it to be so many games.

That is already tested. Only the games that don't work or if no ROM is available are listed by zipaway.

You can find the list of Neo-Geo games here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Neo_Geo_games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Neo_Geo_games)

Probably not. These are the games that I could get to work on the Dingoo A-380.

SEGA CD:

Heart Of The Alien (Out Of This World part I and II) (U) working as CSO/MP3 without graphical glitches.

Finally a good working Out Of This World version for the Dingoo A-380.  :)
