Title: Dingoo A380 Emulators, Games List and Support
Post by: Santo on September 21, 2012, 12:46:41 pm
Hi Everyone... This is the complete list of Emulators and games ported to Dingoo A380..
download links provided below...

some emulators need bios files, some games need original dos files etc etc... so this is the place to discuss about any emulation issue..
but providing links for bios files and roms is prohibited...

Note: Old firmwares may not support some emulators and games. so update your dingoo a380 with latest custom firmware...

Note(TV Out): Only default emulators works with TV Out.. all other ports will not support TV out... but they can be played on the console screen very well.. and Custom firmware supports default emulators too...

download Alien Grey's latest firmware and emulators pack from here:
http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingoo-technology-a380/firmware-v2-0016-with-neo-geo-zip-support/

WOW... the list is loooonnnngggg...  ;D

Spotted a few errors in your list.

It should be Colecovision not Calcovision and it should be Commodore not commondore and also ... it's Alien Grey.  ;D
The game sqrx3 should be deleted from the list because it isn't compiled for the Dingoo A-380 and doesn't work with Ayla's SDL Wrapper tool. I would love to port it to the Dingoo A-380/A-320e because I really like this game but I don't play it much because of the screen issue.

Some more games for "SDL Games:

Quote
Abu Simbel Profanation Deluxe Remake: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,35,410 (http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,35,410)
Noiz2sa: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,30,295 (http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,30,295)
OpenTTD: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,29 (http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,29)

OpenTTD is a game that doesn't work on the Dingoo A-380 without SDL Games.  8)

Some more games compiled for the Dingoo A-380/A-320e:

Dingux-chess ported by Pottzman (where are you man?).
HHexen ported by Coccijoe.
The Last Mission - Remake from scratch by d_smagin.

You can download HHexen here: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,1,0,0,30,602 (http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,1,0,0,30,602)

For dingux-chess the download link doesn't work anymore. I've got that game and I also fixed all backgrounds. I'm going to upload it to my dropbox account to share it.  ;)

Small note, guys, concerning The Last Mission. Actually, I didn't port it. It was written from scratch by humble me, the sprites got colored by my humble hands as well, the same goes for title music remix done in Rad Tracker. ^_^ I disassembled the ripped booter (mision.com, 4-color cga graphics and speeker sound) and analyzed game logic, very much alike digger.com project. Just didn't have enough time to make a web page for it.

Cheers!

Coccijoe is the porter of Hhexen and Hheretic.. but he did not ported DOOM.. i think the engine might be different or he might be busy... but he can give some usefull information....

EDIT: Doom has ported by Alien Grey recently....

It's not impossible to add but it's beyond my knowledge.  ;D

It makes me wonder why there isn't a save/load for dingux-int when all other emulators from ZX81 have it.

Hi! I encountered a little trouble about my small fruit the A380's DCAstaway emulator my bios "ROM.img" because it does not recognize the bios is 0.87, it can not be used

Hi donpachiSLK.. i read this in Alien Grey's firmware thread... so the solution is here..

bios file name should not be "ROM.img"... you have to delete the extension... so it must be just "rom"...

There's an update for the SDL Super Nintendo emulator.

New in this version:

Sample rate is changeable from gui (off, 8192, 11025, 16000, 22050, 32000, 44100, 48000)
Config is saved for each particular rom.
To enter the menu press "SELECT" + "START".
Display Frame Rate is disabled as default.
Full Screen as default.

Download SDL Super Nintendo: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/525714/Open-Source%20Emulators/snes_emu.dge.zip (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/525714/Open-Source%20Emulators/snes_emu.dge.zip)

Hello guys, I am new but really enjoy the Dingoo had the 320 but upgraded to the 380 and was wondering when you say internal memory does that mean I have to take my Dingoo apart OR when i hook it to my PC it shows TWO removeable hard drives one is the U card I assumed and the other is my memory card.

If so can I put these emulators in the Game folder on the U Card one and the emulators will work?

Is the NES emulator better than the original one?  When i hook it to my TV the original is so slow and the sound is so bad it is hard to play some ZELDA!

Thanks I really love this board and Alien and co seem to be some really good guys!

The internal MicroSD card is called memory and the external MicroSD card is called mmc.

You have to update the firmware with the CFW to use the new SDL emulators. The emulators should be put in the emulator folder on the internal MicroSD card. You can do that if you connect your Dingoo A-380 to your computer.

In the emulator pack you'll find a folder Internal MicroSD. These emulators should be copied to the internal drive by connecting the Dingoo A-380 to the computer. The emulators from the External MicroSD folder can be copied to your MicroSD card on your computer or when you connect the Dingoo A-380 to your computer. I recommend to copy them from the computer straight to the MicroSD cards because it's a lot faster.

The SDL NES emulator is perfect but you can't use it to play on TV. None of the open-source emulators or games can be used to play on TV.

Thanks for the reply Alien, so updating the firmware with the CFW does that require taking the Dingoo apart or can I do that just plugged into my PC?

I am still learning, Alien if I may ask has anyone tried to port MUGEN over to the Dingoo A 380?
I have a MUGEN char list of Marvel and DC superheros that is ridiculous.

Also do you think they will ever make a good NES emulator you can play on the TV with the wireless controllers?

Uhm ok, I like it better so far than the A320, it may not have Dingux but I imagine eventually it will have all that crap and controllers so you can hook it to the TV.  The CPS2 roms work right out of the box ony the 380 my 320 they did not some reason?

Really pointless comment. Lately there has been a lot of development for the A380...

Anyway, M.U.G.E.N. is not open source, so you'll have to ask the original developers. There's OpenMugen (http://sourceforge.net/projects/openmugen/) but it doesn't look too primising (latests update from 2009 and it looks far from playable).

A380 DOES have Dingux, but a really old and modified version. I didn't understood the last question, but both consoles run different emulators so they have different compatibility.

I thought it was just Alien Grey recompiling existing A320 Dingux stuff with varying success.

Anyway, it's overpriced and made by shady, incompent, underhanded people. Overall inferior. People should stop buying it and giving those douchebags money.

Maybe he meant Open Dingux which we don't have yet but maybe we will some day because there's a lot of progress for Open Dingux for the Ingenic JZ4755. I don't know if all the hardware on the Dingoo A-380 is going to be supported but at least someone is really interested in Open Dingux for the Ingenic JZ4755.  :)

But the same ROMS play on my A380?

I did not know the A380 had Dingux but to be honest I did not really use Dingux much on my A320 because I did not know much about it.  I just used the Dingoo Digital program and surfed through the folders to my roms.

My Atari roms are not working on my A380 I think I have the wrong emulator on there, I am going to use Alien's links when i get home today and work on getting my A380 up to date.

Heh, I'm just talking about the console (more so "Dingoo Tech"). I don't know why you are taking it personally. And I don't know you'd run away just because little old me, as if I matter in this community of cool programmer people. I'm about as useful as you and the "Dingoo A-380 community". Alien Grey I hope you do not mind me asking a million questions.  But in that video of updating the firmware.  Do both microSD cards need to be blank?  I was going to go buy a new 32GB one to be my internal card, but I have a 16 GB card already with all my ROMs on it.  Can it be used as the external one or does it need to be blank totally?

You can use that 16GB MicroSD card as an external. Just make sure that it's clean so format it with the SD Formatter.

Well I went ahead and ordered 2 32GB class 4 Micro Cards figured I would just max out the size.  So once I get them I am hopefully going to be able to follow your tutorial and update the firmware and get all those emulators on there and then start adding my ROMs.

Which i have to figure out for sure, Neo Geo roms need converted I guess and MAME roms can be in a zip file I think?

With a 32GB card you don't have to worry about storage space so make it easy for yourself and convert the NEO-GEO ROMs to fba format.

I downloaded the converter tool to try, and everytime I put a zip Neo Geo in the folder it says I start the neo batch file I am supposed to start the little screen pops up and says basbeballstars 2 file not found?  But I have the zip file in there and it sees it?

I have a lot to learn on this stuff...I suck at it right now.

I had a PSP 5 years ago I hacked to play ROMs but ended up trading it off.  So i was super happy to see this Dingoo, i was torn between a Dingoo or Caanoo and went with the Dingoo.

It's a batch converter. It needs all the files to convert it to fba format. Put all your NEO-GEO zip roms in the folder to convert them to fba format. Try a different NEO-GEO zip ROM if a NEO-GEO zip doesn't convert to fba format. I had a lot of luck with MAME NEO-GEO zips.

Dingux-np2 and MAME4All aren't uploaded to openhandhelds. Dingux-np2 because it isn't finished and MAME4All because it doesn't work as it should. Maybe these two can be shared on the putlocker account fom danilop2k2.

MAME4All is added to the emulator pack. The emulator pack can be found here: http://www.putlocker.com/file/C6459B53D5667E7C (http://www.putlocker.com/file/C6459B53D5667E7C)

All source codes should be available again from Dropbox within a few days. Dingoo A-320e Dingux firmware is removed and I didn't upload it to openhandhelds but it can be done if it's necessary.  ;)

It's for the Dingoo A-380 with CFW. This version has Virtual Memory enabled to make it possible to load every game on the Dingoo A-380.

@d_smagin

Maybe it's better to have an option in the menu to enable/disable Virtual Memory. With this option everyone can use the latest version without the need to compile more than one version.
Title: Re: Dingoo A380 Emulators, Games List and Support

There's a command key for fbasdl.dge to enable internal virtual memory: --use-swap
I assume you're running fbasdl.dge via a script anyway, so adding this key is a must for all legacy dinguxes. Adding this option to a menu is very ambiguous, since fba can't realloc all memory from virtual to normal and vice-versa on the fly.

Looking good but the link to the new Atari 7800 game Armor Attack is wrong. You added the link for UAE4All.  ;D

The old MAME4All download link doesn't work anymore and can be replaced with the new V1.1 link. Dingux-np2 is no longer available for download but I added the link to the source code. I can't seem to make a good port of it but maybe someone else is more lucky than me with it.  :(

The DOSBox 0.37 Alpha Test Version link also doesn't work anymore but I added it to the emulator pack with the MAME4All V1.1 and new UAE4All version.

Get an RS-97 - it's your best bet!
I would recommend the one with 320x480 screen.
That's what I've got and it's what I will be releasing for shortly - dependent on RetroFirmware 2.0.

I agree with you Slaanesh. I ordered a Powkiddy Q9 RS-97 Plus console (it's supposed to have a 320x240 60Hz screen).

The real Dingoo A-380 isn't available anymore for a very long time and you probably never going to find a second hand one available too. At least I won't sell mine. ;D

Yes, I did. It's an improvement compared to the Dingoo A-380.

I like the faster CPU and more RAM. I also like it that you don't need to open the console anymore to remove the internal MiceoSD card. The d-pad and buttons work well and the L and R shoulder buttons are much better compared to thje Dingoo A-380.

I've got RetroFW installed on a Samsung EVO Plus 256GB SDXC MicroSD card. I can get it to run stable overclocked to 648MHz and as low as 200MHz to suspend the console.

Most of the games and emus run much smoother because of the faster CPU and more RAM. Not everything seems to run just fine. Intellivision emu is broken, Chocolate DOOM seems a step backwards compared to PrBoom (doesn't run total conversions so it's very limited), Wolf3D runs only the shareware version. ScummVM is outdated. ReGBA support is broken. No MidPath emu (it strange that nobody seems to care for this as this does run some nice games).

But I wanted to buy it to run MAME, FBA and Atari Lynx and it does that much better than the Dingoo A-380.  :)
