Official Dingoo Firmware 1.20 leaked
« on: November 04, 2009, 03:16:29 am »
Taken from Dingoo-Digital.com:

Ok guys the forums have been abuzz about this new firmware seen in the wild the elusive 1.20 Official Dingoo Digital A320 Firmware well I caught him I did I did.

Thanks to my connections at Dingoo Digital China as a reseller they provided me a copy before it is posted on the Dingoo Digital China website. Don't ask me when it will be posted on their site I have no clue the actual Dingoo Digital China website is hacked all the time so who knows when it will get posted there.

So enjoy the new firmware from the rumor mill it seems to fix the y & x button bug and the codec issue with video stalling while playing and last but not least more languages. I don't know I haven't tested it yet as I'm typing this and posting it to everyone else can have it....

Thanks!  Hopefully someone can 'patch' this to run at 400Mhz.  I'd love to have the native OS run without underclocking the processor.

Y/B button problem is fixed, and it contains 9 languages.

How do you tell what firmware version you have?

System setup -> About

Thanks.
I know it's noobish, but I am just such a total idiot when it comes to this stuff...I get worried about doing anything other than just playing the games.

I think I have found another change between v.1.1 and v.1.2

It seems that the jukebox bug (play music in the jukebox, then try playing a GBA game. Causes Dingoo to freeze at loading screen) has been fixed, or at least improved. Tried to duplicate the bug several times after updating and it only happened once (on a homebrew GBA game, but it gave two white screens instead of freezing at the Loading screen).

After that i removed the official a320.hfx gile from my dingoo and put copied the new a.320.hfx file

When i goto about i still get version 1.1 on screen and the b/y buttons still cant be pressed together

What am i doing wrong

After it's fully downloaded (be sure of it!), you'll have to decompress the .RAR file (using Stuffit, WinRAR, etc. you can Google ".RAR decompression," for more).

From there, put the file in the ROOT directory of your Dingoo (make sure you're not placing it in your SD Card, it won't work), then disconnect your Dingoo from USB.

Then, power off your Dingoo and press and hold the down button on the D-Pad. Whilst still holding "down" power on the Dingoo until it says it's updating then it's safe to let loose your hold of the down button.

From there simply wait until it's finished updating.

It will come back in Chinese, to change back to your preferred language simply go all the way to the right to the icon that looks like a gear, click "A," then press the down button 5 times, click "A," and select your language!

Good luck, brother, enjoy!

Sadly, the Albums bug (which is undocumented as far as I know) is still there. You know how you can press X to return to the main menu, instead of pressing B multiple times, walking through all the previous screens? Try to go to Albums in the Jukebox, select an album, and when you're in the track list, press X. It will return to the menu, but freeze as soon as the main menu shows.

I can confirm this bug. 100% reproduceable.

I tried this and it never froze on me.

EDIT: Played a song, went back to track view and then pressed X to return to main menu. Froze.
