No new OhBoy changes in this release but this uses the latest gnuboy core. The updated http://code.google.com/p/gnuboy/ core is version 1.0.5. Many thanks to Andrey Vahrushev (needcomp) for improving LCD timing so games like Shantae (gbc), Extreme Ghostbusters (gbc), and Killer Instinct (gb).

See attached images for Extreme Ghostbusters differences (note colors/colours).

btw clach04: In gnuboy source code, you have removed GB and GBC file extensions in sys/dingoo/sim.c by mistake.

line 24 should be:

      strcpy(pname, "GB|GBC|GBZ|GZ");

wy_scorpio:
clach04's version is the same as mine. The only differences are that in mine the menu has a few extra options available, but the emulator itself is exactly the same, so the performance (music and speed) is the same.

About the palettes, my unofficial version has three variants of the DMG mono palette (dark, normal and light).
Just make sure to have the "Color filter" option set to "off" or "GBC only", so it doesn't distort the colors of monochrome GB games.

BTW, could you tell me which rom did you use to see differences in sound and performance? I'd like to check it.

i  test OHBOY useing rom 'Dai-2-ji Super Robot Taisen G (Japan)'

my setting  use your emu like below:
Color filter  :off
palettes: DMG (dark,med,light)
sound:60%
scal: 1.5X

my setting use clach04's emu like below:
Color filter  :off
palettes: DMG
sound:60%
scal: sampleX1.5

i find some differences between the two emus...
1.clach04's ver screen darker than yours...
2.yours emu music speed a bit faster than clach04's..and acoustic seems a bit different...

of course, if you set the color filter to off, the color filter does not work. because it's disabled.

That's not possible. GBC roms are not affected by the mono palette, because they do not use it.

Could you provide screenshots of it?

that is not a GBC rom, it's a monochrome gb rom renamed to gbc.

Just tested with other emulators aswell and all of them recognice it as a monochrome GB rom.

EDIT: if i force the emulator in my PC to be a GBC, it works with colors. But i have to force the GBC mode. So it seems the ROM can work in both Monochrome and Color modes. Strange...

Anyway, it seems to be the ROM's fault (it's a pirate game). The emulator is fine.

It has been that way since I added the SIM code back 2010 ;-) http://code.google.com/p/gnuboy/source/diff?spec=svn188&r=117&format=side&path=/trunk/sys/dingoo/sim.c&old_path=/trunk/sys/dingoo/sim.c&old=

My guess is you have a number of changes that you've made to your branch (and this is one of them).

I've just updated it though based on your comment, see http://code.google.com/p/gnuboy/source/detail?r=188

Thank you for building the sim, I've very little free time at the moment (hence taking 3 days to get back to the forum) so I'm very grateful to you for making releases.
