New Improved Overclocker Application
« on: April 05, 2010, 01:06:54 am »
I've made a new (better) open-source overclocker, it supports different core and memory speed combinations.
My dingoo reliably clocks to 448MHz core clock with 149MHz memory clock as I suspect most will with this new overclocker since it sets all the internal clocks better than A600's app. TV-out still doesn't work while overclocking.

This overclocker comes with a simple to use graphical user interface too, and dumps information about the internal clocks of your dingo, aswell as telling you the current clock speeds.

The overclocking code in this application has been added to the dingoo native sdk so that it can be integrated into other applications with relative ease, one downside seems to be that the OS randomly resets the clocks when certain applications start so it may only work for certain apps/emulators.

You can download it from google-code here or a mirror here.

Thanks very much,it seems you still have to hold a button down, but it can be B so its abit easyier to get thru menus now,as you can use A with out pushing it fast LOL

no luck with TV out?

I'm still looking into it, if it's a clock timing issue then I can fix it, if it's an OS issue then It'll be harder.

Load the application.
Up and down select between cpu and maximum ram speed.
Left and right modify the clockspeeds.
Press A to set  the clockspeeds to the current values.
Press B to reset the current values to the current clockspeeds.
Press Start to quit.

The Dingoo firmware will reset the clockspeed immediately you quit the application unless you keep a button held until the app you want overclocking is launched, so you should hold down B before you press start and keep it held until you started your game.

For the maximum safe overclock set your core speed to 430 and your max ram speed to 166 (it will automatically revert to 147).
