Can't play .flv files on native dingoo video player

I can't get native dingoo video player to play .flv files.  Also, the dingux Mplayer plays .flv but it's very slow, need help.

.flv is just a container, it can contain different size/codec videos.
The one you try to run probably is H.264, which is too heavy for dingoo's processor.
Try to download the lower quality flv next time ;)

The dingoo only supports the old youtube .flv format, newly downloaded videos from youtube will have the new flv format and cannot be played.

i usually recommend you to convert the videos to 320x240 mp4 format...

Hey folks!

Regarding compatibility issues and file size, what exact settings on videos should I apply to have the optimum for viewing either on Dingoo itself / any non-HD TV?

I know I can recode videos with tools like that SUPER recoder, but I'm a newb on video stuff so I dunno what to do exactly  ??? .

I'd like to put some movies, music vids from youtube and maybe some comedy videos on it (ah and stuff like the Sailor Moon series which I recently dl'ed from youtube) if it helps.

There are just too many options on audio and video containers, what can the dingoo actually playback and what is the best I can get out of the TV out?

I always use Xvid (avi) at a bitrate of 900 kbit @ 320x240. :D Using XMediaRecode btw, works fine to recode non working flv?s too.

If you're trying to run .FLV make sure the file(s) is on Flash 6 format, otherwise it won't work. The native Dingoo player only accepts and plays .flv or .swf files with Flash 6 format.

It gives you the option to download either as flv or mp4, choose mp4 and it will work well.

This is the method I use after I download a video using Download Helper for Firefox. I use OJO Soft Total Video Converter: http://www.ojosoft.com/video-converters/total-video-converter.html to convert the video to .mp4 320x240 (as suggested above by Duke Magus. I am sure that if you do a little Googling you can find a full version of this software;) This software will convert anything and does a good job of it.

I'm guessing you want to play a Youtube video, then you should download this:

It's an awesome free, legal program that lets you convert video files from one file type to next (like MPG to AVI) and also lets you download Youtube videos automatically from a link and lets you convert it to the file of your choice. (For instance AVI, which would work on Dingoo)

Correct me if I'm wrong about the Youtube theory.

Actually (If you use firefox) the fastest way would be to use the 1-Click YouTube Video Downloader, it appears under the video and can download as FLV MP4 or 3GP https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/13990/?src=api ...works great..   :)

...I know this is an old post... ;D

New youtube .flv files can be played.. if downloaded in the lowest resolution...

But if the .flv file is in a higher resolution rename to .mp4   ;)

I think you can benefit from using AppGeeker to convert files to mp4, a more common file format widely supported by players and devices.
How to convert flv to mp4 on mac and windows
I use it for all my converting.
