Newbie needs help with firmware
« on: February 25, 2012, 08:04:54 pm »
Hi all, jut bought an a320 off ebay.  It has firmware v1.1.  All I want to do is upgrade it to play NES, Genesis, and Atari 2600 games.  I need someone to tell me which firmware I should be upgrading to. I want to make sure I get a current firmware where previous problems are fixed (x,y buttons) but not one with a lot of bugs.  Since I'm just looking for those 3 emulators, I just need the most reliable firmware for those. This unit is for my 4 year old.  Is there a tutorial or something that I can read up on?  I don't want to brick my unit.  Thanks

Thank you!  Is 1.22 better than 1.2?  I notice 1.2 was posted in 2009?

The native firmware hasn't been updated in some time as it doesn't need it, it's quite solid. Just update to the one linked above and you will be fine.

By the way, the firmware has nothing to do with the emulators. If you want a 2600 emu, you will need to download and install one (not that hard, just copy and paste really). I'd recommend tracking down the fixed Mega Drive emulator too. The stock NES emu is fine.

Do you have link to the fixed Mega Drive emu?
