Custom apps not working on native
« on: December 28, 2010, 11:14:55 pm »
Hi, I'm a fresh owner of a Dingoo A320. I have already installed Dingux on it and put some native apps in the internal memory. While Dingux and preinstalled native emulators work fine, I can't run any of the new apps I installed (they seem to crash the native OS). So far I tested :

- XRickOO
- AstroLander
- ManicMiner
- GooPlayer

In the about section I can see "Version V1.2" so I assume that is the version of firmware. I have no idea if this is a DD or DT Dingoo, though it has a different serial than the "fake" Dingoo. On the other hand the wall charger is uncertified and it is suppose to output 500mA current (I only tested that it actually works I don't use it anyway). The Dingoo itself has the pawprint on the back followed by some Chinese characters, "Dingoo Digital", "A - 320" and "Made in China". It seems to charged via the included USB cable (wall charger and turned of PC make it display a green bar on a battery and while connected to working PC it displays USB logo), though I noticed it has a bad habbit of showing that the battery is full shortly after disconnecting (it returns to the real value after a minute or two).

So is this a matter of Firmware (should I update it) or maybe I have incorrect version of Dingoo (DD\DT). I would be grateful for any help.

You have a so called "HK-dingoo".
If you try to run newer apps they should run without problems, but the older ones requires patching.

If you want to patch apps yourself, get the patch script here:'t-play-native-community-apps-emulators/msg11484/#msg11484

Otherwise feel free to grab this pack:
All the apps in this pack are patched.

Thx for the reply. I have one more question :

Should I update the firmware to 1.22 ?

I checked the serial number it doesn't have HK at the end (not that it really has to mean anything with the number of various Dingoos being sold currently).
