changing default emulators
« on: November 04, 2013, 10:18:43 am »
Hi,

I downloaded the lion emulator pack. How do I associate the emulators with the games. Do I just rename them to their existing counterparts already? I tried that with the Nes one and it still looks the same - should it look any different?

Thanks

EDIT: never mind I found a readme in an older version of lions emulator pack :)

You don't have to rename the emu to match the old ones but you can't have 2 emu (.sim extension) for the same hardware.
So make a backup of the old stuff (just in case) and replace with the new ones (for example, replace nes.sim with dingoones.sim)
Last step which is mandatory, update the jukebox (automatically performed when connecting and removing the dingoo to a PC) so that your games (for example .nes extension) are binded to the updated emulators.

ohhh, ok thanks - I didn;t realise it was the connecting to PC that does the binding. So just to be clear I don't need to rename dingoones.sim to nes.sim - it somehow figures which one to use?

thanks

Yes you can name it whatever you want as long as there's only one on the dingoo (otherwise the binding onto the .nes extension can't be done)
