This is a useful post, I've got past experience with dealextreme for all sorts of orders. Their lead time is a bit slow, but they deliver for free, so it's not something to complain about!

Bought my Dingoo from one of the above : http://www.dingoo.co.uk/

Got it in 72 hours, the guy also sells through Ebay.

I purchased mine off Ebay, got to love those random 15% off paypal coupons the send out rarely.

I agree DX is great but slow to actual ship some items as they source them only after your place your order. They are also very easy to get a replacement items from and they have a USA RMA address out of Florida(miami I think)

Thinkgeek is great for returns also and there customer service is top notch but you pay for it.

GBAX is all good no complaints though Ive not ordered from them in years.

One Final place I would include is
http://www.superufo.com/product_html/Cool_Stuff_Micro_Game_Station_Dingoo_A320_Black.html

They are an awesome website good prices and fast shipping

I bought mine from ThinkGeek.com. I know.... I know..... They're overpriced compared to some other places, but I like the peace of mind associated with dealing with an American company...plus I got next day shipping on my order. It's been out for delivery all day and should be at home waiting for me after work.  :)

For those who occasionally leave their homes ;): Atatbo Trading Co., shop 15, ground floor, Golden Shopping Centre, Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong. That's where I picked up one for me and a friend of mine last month, HKD 590 each.

The bad news is that mine (why not his? :)) is semi-broken: The backlight brightness varies. After opening it up, it stopped working altogether, so I ordered a new one from a Chinese retailer on eBay. A couple of days later, I felt the strange urge to try turning my broken Dingoo on again, without really expecting anything, and, strangely enough, it worked. Just like that, as if nothing had ever happened. Still has the backlight problem, though. :-\

(And the new one is still in the mail.)

I got mine from dingoo888.co.uk because I needed (wanted) my Dingoo in a rush, since I was going away and I didn't mind paying a bit more than DealExtreme for fast delivery. The customer service was very friendly and I got my Dingoo the very next day!

My Dingoo from Dealextreme took 6 days to post and lass than 7 to arrive. I've heard people waiting longer, but I would recommend them as they are the cheapest around and I've never had any problems.

GoCyberShop is also overpriced and, from my experience, rather shady.

A friend paid to have them install a "Messiah" chip for his PS2 a while back, and they actually installed a (much cheaper) "Magic2" chip. He realized something was up when Splinter Cell kept freezing on him, a game which had known issues with the Magic chip, but worked fine on Messiah. They eventually put it right, but only after my friend threatened to open the system up and check the chip himself. I have a feeling this wasn't the first time this (profitable) "mistake" was made either.

I'd stick with one of the official resellers if I were you, you'll get a better deal at least. Just my two cents worth.

After whats been said and looking at the site myself... 95.99 USD is NOT 58% off. They are overcharging for it to start off with and claiming that it's cheaper than it should be. That's just sad.

Well DX just changed item description to "Back Ordered - ETA 11/20/2009 (30 days)" But my account still says "Status: Order Received - in stock" Has been like that for 5 days now. I've sent them a message and made a forum post. See what happens.. Probably going to cancel my order if it's not shipped really soon. I'll just order it from Chinavasion, at least that way I'll get it before Christmas.

Ordered from DX 10/18/09 (white Dingoo). Having same scenario as Goon. Says "in stock" when I check its status, but on the page it claims its been back ordered. Heavily debating canceling my order if anyone can tell me a faster way to get one. I've been searching for reviews on shipping time concerning different websites, but its hard to find for certain suppliers. I'd cancel from DX in a heartbeat if anyone can refer me to a better US supplier, excluding thinkgeek.com (better as in faster shipping). Paying more doesn't really bother me. Besides, DX looks rather shady when it comes to customer service, and I've heard one too many horror stories from past customers concerning painfully long shipping times due to unresponsive service, or worse, receiving broken stuff. Has anyone used dingoo-digital-usa.com? If so, how was it? Also, Is there a supplier that has them in stock IN the US and sells to US only? I just want my Dingoo... :'(

I hear good things about it, I'd give them a shot. The S&H might be a bit high but that's because it's a self owned business as far as I know. I was reading another website and he had said he goes to drop them off at the post office himself.

"Typically ships in 2 to 5 days". Not much longer really.

You shouldn't shop at DX if you don't have the patience, but yeah they need to sort it out.

It's my first order with them, so I'll let you know how it goes! :P

They seem to be fast though, order started to be processed minutes after it was submitted, it's already packaged and awaiting pickup according to there website, pretty quick compared to DX! Also they charge shipping but ship with well known professional courier company's, so once it has left it'll be here fast! :)

I ended up placing an order at gameyeeeah.com, I opened a ticket with them and asked them if they had the white dingoo's in stock. I got an email next day where they said that they had 7 in stock. So because of the prompt service and the fact that they had it in stock, I decided to buy one there.
Title: Re: Where does he get those wonderful toys??

The reason the white Dingoo is hard to get is because it's a big hit in asia right now and they are supplying them there to local shops etc first. They have ramped up production in the factory and they are trickling into us vendors now in the USA. I have 5 in stock and another 20 that should be here by Monday. The Black was the same way awhile back couldn't get any to save my life I have about 15 in stock and 20 should be here monday also.

Humm...I just ordered 3 white Dingoos from DX...and, in the normal amount of time, they have provided me a tracking number and said the item shipped on 10/27.  They didn't say anything about being backordered to me....

But, yeah, the one and only problem I have with DX is that it takes an infernally long time to ship.  DX I have never had any problems with...never had any items broken or get lost, or anything, but always have dealt with a long shipping time.

Don't matter much to me, though, because I usually get the stuff before I end up getting the credit card bill for them, so no biggie.

The A320 will no long say Dingoo or have the Dingoo logo on the back of them all it will say is A320 in bigger letters and made in China on the back. I have no clue as to why they decided on this but that is a fact all new Dingoo A320's coming out of China will be this way. It sucks as for the question about the white dingoo there is a craze in China for them so they supply local vendors and stores there first with them several months ago there was a craze for the Black one it just comes with the territory of the game.

Scored it locally so didn't have to wait months for the damn thing, and I am absolutely stoked. It's a brilliant little device... I know this is going to make you want yours even more, huh?  :o

Still got one on order from Chinavasion which I already have plans for!

My mother bought mine from chinavision for my birthday (in late may). Took ~10 days to germany, no problems with customs (no logo on package).
Are really all new Dingoos without the Dingoo logo? That would suck. :-\
But could be a good opportunity for those Dingoo shops (like Dingoo-Digital-USA,Dingoo-Korea etc.) to sell those logos, but plz don?t take more than 0.50? for them.  ;D

Don't matter much to me, though, because I usually get the stuff before I end up getting the credit card bill for them, so no biggie.

The item (RT*********HK) was posted on 30-Oct-2009 and is being processed for delivery to the addressee.

So there it is...six-seven days from order to ship...and now it is in the hands of Hong Kong Post.
Guess you were lucky because according to dx they'll first have them in stock in 20 days.

White dingoo's are backordered everywhere, not just at dealextreme. I just hope that I can find a store that sells them for about the same price and has them in stock.

One more thing to note with Chinavasion, which is better than ThinkGeek and other places (don't know how it is with DX), is that they offer a 12 months warranty...

If I'm doing my math right it's been 23 days since I ordered.

Sounds like about the right amount of time for you to then be getting your device...that is a normal amount of time for DX, I've discovered.

Patience, young padawan!!

Have you tried tracking your order?  DX gives tracking numbers, and you usually can track them.  For example, I know my package was taken by Hong Kong Post on 10/30 and is being processed for delivery to the U.S.  So, now I expect, by about 11/15 I should have mine.

This is why I wondered about that web site I found for Dingoo accessories, parts, and whole Dingoos...based in N. America....hoping the turnaround time may be quicker when you cut out international shipping.

But, first, I need to know they are trustworthy...so I placed a small order with them.  We'll see what happens.

If it's good, i'll re-post that web site...only if it is well understood that I have no affiliation with said website, and no profit motive here...just a desire to help my fellow gamers.  I do not make any money from any website relating to the Dingoo...or any other electronic device.

DX didn't give me a US postal service number.

You don't need one!
It keeps the same Hong Kong Post Tracking number all the way through the process.

Try tracking THAT number (probably starts with "HK") on the USPS site.

A mate of mine received an order from Chinavasion yesterday for a White dingoo. It has the paw on the back, and 1.1 firmware. So it seems Chinavasion haven't removed the paw on all the units they are shipping atm.

It finally arrived. Wasn't really happy about how they packed it in a bubble wrap envolope. Sure it's in the box, but I would have liked the box to look a bit nicer than it ended up. Firmware version 1.11.

So just a question, if i order a Dingoo from chinavasion say in a week or two would you say they would still ahve the paw on the back? Just wondering cos i might get one sooner rather than later if there not going to have a dingoo with the paw print on the back in a few weeks time.

Will definatley try to. Thanks for the quick response Rebel +1 Karma for you!

Another question. If i got the black Dingoo would i have a better chance of getting a pawprint Dingoo since the white ones seem to be more popular.

I've received a number of units which are all September made, and have paw images on the back. Units without the paw have been around since August, so it seems that not all the units made recently will lack the paw. Just cross your fingers you get a paw version!

Chinavasion shipped mine instantly which implies they have a lot in stock.

There's always a chance...who knows?
I think I cleaned out the last of the white paw-print Dingoos from DX...I ordered 3 recently, and got them, all with paw print...and right after my order processed, they went into backorder...which means that they were out of their stock...the new stock they get in at DX may not have paw print.  Could not say about Chinavasion, though.

EDIT: sorry, but just had to brag about getting the PAW-PRINT ones...I am so VERY happy that mine have the paw print...I'd have been a bit pissed off if they didn't.

I've just received my white dingoo from Gameyeeeah. I immediately knew it's pawed 'cause there is a Dingoo logo on the front of the box and says Dingoo Digital. My heart jumped :P I placed my order on 30th October and it was send on the 2.11.
Firmware is still v1.1, so I guess I was lucky enough to get the 'old' one.

oh and, it was 86$, shipping included. Quite satisfied.

DX offers the basic 3 month satisfaction guarantee, but my personal experience with them is that they even refund/replace items AFTER that warranty period, if it's likely to be a production fault and not a user fault. Had experience with an Acekard2 and some Nintendo DS parts, all breaking after the warranty period. I contacted DX customer service (I know, they're slow) and got a replacement without any hassles.

they've got it for 81 USD, which is about ?50 (and free shipping too). Customer service seems good so far. Just hope my dingoo truns out to be one of the Pawed ones  ;D

I kinda wondered about that myself actually... perhaps the white one was available first, so they posted it at the $103 price...the nthe black one became available from suppliers later, and the price dropped...so they just posted the black one at the lower price?

Not too sure either...hmm, now you got me wondering! :-\

I think the white dingoos are popular for a couple of reasons. Like you said i think because they were the first colour of Dingoo more people would have bought them and some sites dont stock black. Another reason that could contribute is that the white one doesent attract as many finger prints. Theres probably many more but there just some i could think of off the top of my head.

Actually, I hear they are supposed to come out with pink ones.  I wish I could get me a pink one.  But, owning 4 Dingoo's already...I have no justification for buying yet another.  And, besides, most likely, the pink one would not have the paw anymore.  I don't care what anyone says, I believe there IS a difference between the pawed and unpawed Dingoo's.

Ha ha, it's back ordered without any ETA. It'll take weeks before they get more stock, and right now HKP(Hongkong Post)
is having massive delays meaning that it could take up to 4 weeks for packages to arrive. Don't expect to get it before feb.

Stupid shop-name but good prices. I used the cheapest shipping and a 5% discount code (videogame).

I did an ebay order from a seller that seems to be an ebay storefront for TGBUS.com, a Beijing dealer.

Unfortunately, I have no details about the company itself, since their website is in Chinese. They have a lot of positive feedback spread across their many ebay storefronts. No feedback mentioned anything about the Dingoo being defective or problematic.

Their photos show a pawed unit, but there's no serial number (and that could be done with photoshop for ebay).  The watermark for their website is in every photo. They have several listings, from different seller names, but all lead back to Beijing, China and have the same layout/photos/watermark.

Anyone else use them yet? I can't believe a seller with that big a presence on ebay wouldn't be responsible for many of the Dingoo units out there.

Mine is on the way from toy_bar, one of the TGBUS.com ebay storefronts. I'll report on its type when I get it. Incidentally, I bought from them because they have overwhelmingly positive feedback, and because I was ignorant of the existence of Dingoo-Digital USA - had I known that there was an authorized US dealer, I would have made the purchase there.

yeah i didn't think to e-mail thinkgeek about mine when i bought it but works fine not many problems with it's froze up a few times with certain emulators but i think it might have just been the roms. i have bricked it tho and got the red and blue unauthorized screens thank god joyrider had a fix for it. its unpawed with a30 made in china on the back but the serial # is 4g a320bk9600729 no hk in it besides the minor lockups now and then i am happy with it everything works fine just the occasional glitch but everything has minor problems eventually. not willing to open it up to find out the specs of the hardware tho but if you find out let me know.

Dingoo-Digital-USA.com (http://Dingoo-Digital-USA.com) also ship to Canada for those interested, also, bought mine from gamersection.ca (http://gamersection.ca) which sell at a higher price but got shipped and received it only 2 days later, so well worth the money. (Btw, gamersection sell the Chinese white 4gb with the serial ending with HK, but like I said in another post doesn't seem to have any problems with native apps or dingux for that mater.)  ;D

OK, so my Dingoo from store.cn, one of the TGBUS.com fronts, arrived today. Here's what I can tell you thus far:

There is a Paw on the back.

Back says:
Dingoo Digital
A-320
made in china

Serial number near left speaker has a BK in it near the beginning, but has no HK in it.

LCD is ILI9331

Firmware is 1.2

When I installed Dingux, I had to use Puppy Linux (I'm on 64-bit Windows 7 and that didn't work). Once there, I discovered that the Dingoo wouldn't even go into the install mode when I used the standard hwinit.bin file. I had to substitute the hwinit_2_9331.bin instead, and then everything worked.

(I'll also note that the "idiot's guide to installing Dingux" screws up on the linux terminal commands, and omits the necessary "1" between usbtool-linux and  zImage_dual_boot_installer. I finally figured it out myself.)

So far, I've had a few freezes, most notably in some third-party native Dingoo emulators. However, it works pretty well and Dingux installed without my pulling out too much of my hair, so all is well.

I got the official sleeve and silicon skin for the Dingoo with the order, and they're both pretty nice. I don't like the silicon skin for gaming, though, as it impedes the D-pad a little too much (fireballs in Capcom games were tough with it on). He also had a bunch of games loaded on the NAND; Pretty much all of the ROMs were in Chinese, and very few of them had filenames that describe the game; Instead, everything is made to appear pretty generic with numbers instead of names. Still, there's some interesting stuff loaded on it. For someone who doesn't want to do any searching for ROMs, this is a good buy.

The unit itself initally gave off a sort of burny smell, and I have to say, after owning a GP2X Wiz, that the speakers on the Dingoo are horrible in comparison. The unit itself feels better than the Wiz (especially the ABXY buttons) but I can't get used to the R & L shoulder buttons yet. They're too small!

I can endorse store.cn (and other related storefronts) as a decent seller *at the moment* if you're looking for a Dingoo. Shipping speed was decent, and extras included were impressive, and (for now, at least) he doesn't seem to be selling the HK or unpawed units.

I got mine the day before yesterday, and can report the exact same experience as above. Also had to use the newer version of hwinit in order to install dual-boot.

Since Dealextreme sucks monkey-balls with their shopping system (In stock when i ordered it 2nd December, then temporary out of stock since xmas, back in stock first week of jan., and now sold out) i ordered yesterday 2 white Dingoos on

http://www.gameyeeeah.com

Stupid shop-name but good prices. I used the cheapest shipping and a 5% discount code (videogame).

Today i got a mail that the dingoos are shipped...yay.

I will post back when I get them...hope it will be the paw-version *keepsfingerscrossed.

Sorry for the late update. I got the white Dingoos about 4 Weeks ago. BK-Serial. Everything fine so far. But it was the first time i had to go to the customs office to get them (And pay some extra $). Never happend with dealextreme, but I guess i was just lucky back then.

It seems that black Dingoos are back in stock, and DE's techical support answered already that they are pawed.
Can someone provide additional information? I thought I might finally be able to get me a nice handheld instead of sucky S60 emulators.

I found this (http://www.focalprice.com/detail_GT021W.html) from Focalprice. Either it's a real good fake or there's a typo in the name and it's actually the real thing. I still wouldn't buy it atleast yet.

Buy mine from Bestofferbuy (http://www.bestofferbuy.com/dingoo-a320-28-lcd-gbangosnes-nessfccps12-emulator-game-console-4gb-builtin-minisd-p-26364.html) cause they have the dingoo in stock, unlike the DX.

Seems like a fake. Especially since it's called "Dingguo" in the description as well.

I ordered 2 Dingoo's from DX and both had problems. The first took me just under 2 months for them to "allow" me to send it back for a replacement, which arrived a month later. The second took just under 4 months for them to "agree" to give me a full refund. They would not refund the cost of shipping because the entire process of complaints lasted over their "30-days" in which a product must be sent back by. I finally received a Paypal refund just under 6 months after the time of purchase.

FYI -- DX has a hit or miss customer support. The prices are right but if you get a faulty product expect a large headache while trying to get it made right.

Personally I won't buy anything over $10 from them again.

I can only comment on my experience I can not comment on what they are currently selling. But I will add that no matter how hard it can be to get your point across, I have never been lied to by a DX staff member.

Hello all,

one more future Dingoo user here that would need some help. In a next week or so, some of my friends are going to Dusseldorf, Germany, and I would like to "use" them to get me a Dingoo. Only problem is that I can't find, on the net, any brick-and-mortar shops in Dusseldorf that sell Dingoos. Does anyone know a place where a Dingoo can be bought (an adress or an internet site)?

Got my toy at DX, in May.
It's original (I mean from Shenzhen Dingoo Digital ), nonHK, pwned. Only one sad thing - freez on 430 overcklocking. less speed working nice.

Hi,

I ordered an A330 with game controllers from www.consoles-mobiles.com, a frech web site.
They have a special offers with controller: buy one, get one free.
Because I already had an A330 without controller I took the offer.
The prices include free delivery worldwide!

The parcel was big (A330 and 2 controllers) and was collected by the customs, I had to answer several questoins.
consoles-mobiles helped me immediately with information (Excel sheet) that I could send to the customs, some days later I got the parcel.

But the customs send me a bill over 31 EUR for tax and fees (25 % of the price). I sent the bill to consoles-mobiles and they promised to pay all additional costs. A few days later I got a refund of 31 EUR on my credit card.
Very user friendly (they didn't make much profit) and serious!

consoles-mobiles.com has my full recommendation!!!

Regards,
Achim

finally got one  hooray!  ;D ;D ;D

i'm in the uk and wanted to buy from the uk to make returning it easier if bad things happen so i bought my a320 from GBAX.com and am happy with everything so far. my console seems fine with no problems to report and came with a 1 year warranty.
i bought the a320 mainly because i was disappointed with mame games on my psp (scrolling blur, lots of games dont work etc) so when i get mame4all running on the dingoo i will report back what i think of it and put lots of clips on youtube of games running.
i'm really glad i bought an a320 and i like how small it is because it's very lightweight and much more 'portable' than my psp.
the screen seems fine and clear enough. the buttons and directional thumbpad are ok, not quite as good as psp but still great in my opinion. the L & R buttons could have been placed a little better but it's not really a problem for me. the wallcharger is horrible so i won't ever use it. all in all i'm delighted to now call myself a goonie like the rest of you. really nice little console which i can't wait to fill up with great games yay! :D

Hi there.

New to the Dingoo and new to the boards.

I placed my order with DealExtreme on June 19th and my a320 arrived at my doorstep (in the USA) on June 30th.

Since it seems to be of extreme importance to the people here on the boards ... mine has the 'paw print' on the back and it seems to be in perfect working order. I'm actually very very pleased with it.

With respect to DealExtreme, maybe I got lucky. I had a complicated order with about 10 different components for repairing my son's NDS, batteries for SP's, and all kinds of little stuff. They got everything in the order fulfilled perfectly, and nothing was missing or incorrect. Just a side note. I might consider ordering from them again should I need more repair components like those someday.

AFAIK, they've never had the original, the one I got from CV was a HK model, and the one my friend got from CV months later was also a HK.

Though it doesn't matter much anymore, all HK bugs have been ironed out.

I recently ordered mine from ShopTemp (http://shoptemp.com/products/Dingoo-A320-Handheld-Game-Console-p-45.html). They have a "100% non-HK guarantee" on the Dingoos they sell, so once mine gets here within next week I'll let you all know if they live up to their claims. For $103 CAD for a Dingoo, 4 GB MicroSD card and Micro-to-Mini SD adapter, I'm not complaining if it's HK or not, just as long as it gets here in one piece. Anyways, I'll post here in a few days when my Dingoo finally gets here.

EDIT: Ok, got it yesterday. So far, it seems there's nothing wrong with it. Some people say the shoulder buttons or start/select buttons can be recessed a little, but mine are perfect. However, I know now why people don't get piano black... .00002 seconds after I got it out of the box it was covered in fingerprints, and I swear some of them weren't even mine. It seems to be non-HK, but I don't know how I can test that fully. Either way, ShopTemp seems to be a good seller for Dingoo A320s.

DealExtreme may be one of the cheapest places to buy the Dingoo and other products, but pray to higher powers that you won't have to cancel your order, make a change to it, or get a refund, because their customer service is horrible. I ordered some items, had to cancel the order a couple of hours later, and didn't hear a word from them for three weeks, even after I contacted them two times. I eventually had to open a dispute with PayPal to even get a response from DX. They promised me a refund on friday, and PayPal automatically closed the dispute (which I find odd), it's now Tuesday and I've yet to see any money from them.

Hmmmmm. Your first post here. May you be an official from Focalprice, which is at No. 1 in your list? Well, anyway the ONLY interesting thing about DealExtreme is the fact that one does not have pay S&H (shipping and handling costs). Because if you live outside the US and you order anything, price is not interesting at all. S&H is so ridiculously high (compared to a few years ago) that you pay 50% extra for anything you buy.

So I'd rather like a topic called: "Sites without shipping costs or are clear about it.". Anyway, most of the sites in your list don't ask shipping costs. But are they reliable? I don't care if you say so because you've only placed one post: I do not trust you yet. And your ONE post wasn't even about the Dingoo itself or classic gaming.

Well, sorta thanks for the list, I think...  ???

Well you are partially correct. This is indeed my first post here because i got to this site through a google search yesterday. However, all the content on the site is legit for one specific reason: a few months ago when i googled "sites like dealextreme" all i got was some forum posts, so i built this site to give people the option to rate sites themselves.
As you can see from the site, i am getting more link submissions currently than i can afford (or have the time) to review (3 products from each site + 2 weeks shipping) but you can be sure that the site is legit, and i would even appreciate it if people send me some good reviews on email (genuine, not copy - paste from other sites) through the "contact us" on the site or to email [email protected]
So I hope you enjoy the site and i promise to publish any quality content and reviews people will send me. Good day friend.

Btw i truly like focal [rice the most because they really are slightly cheaper than DX, and the shipping is muchhhhhhhhhh faster. sometimes orders on DX are "pending" for a month before they ship and it drives me crazy. buy in coins is also very nice and you should check it out.

That doesn't mean a thing. The only way to know for sure is to try the Neo Geo emulator, if you see graphical glitches you have the Dingoo Tech (or HK) model.

Yeah, just try the Neogeo emulator. Pretty much all Neogeo games use an effect where the screen zooms in and out. On HKs, the zooming causes horribly garbled graphics that make it unplayable (or at least impossible to enjoy). Here's a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGKqGOmeauI

I can pretty much guarantee you that 99% of Dingoo's sold on eBay are the 'HK' model. Dingoo Digital aren't producing the A320 any more and haven't for some time.

It's not that big of a deal, as long as it works all you're missing out on is MVS on native. If you install Dingux, you can still play Neo Geo games just fine.

Meh. I got one of those packages before. It will be an "HK" (one made by DT), so the native Neogeo emulator will be useless. But beside that it's fine.

As for the accessories: That bag is crap and is likely to tear soon. Silicone glove is useless and awkward. And cheap arse no name SD cards is a bad idea. Don't be surprised if the card starts bugging out or quits working altogether a short while down the road.

Mine is a white pawed one with 1.2 FW

The Neogeo plays fine, only problems i seen is some games the shadows of players flicker a bit and also Neodrift has at times like a clicking sound, will have to try game on my other older Dingoos.

Ordered one off DX, but used the DXUSA sku so I managed to get it in about 3 business days.

Appears to be an actual non-HK A320 has paw, made in china, no HK on serial #, ILI_9338 screen(works fine with new dual boot loader + dingus + sience 9338 kernel from thread)...

Box mentions Shenzhen and is identical to what I heard in a vid from one of the people here mentioning that the box looks exactly like the original with holo sticker and everything.

I ordered the black one, but presumably DX sources all of them from the same supplier and I'd read that they purged the HK versions, although they're selling the Dingoo A330EX(Gemei A330 non-"fashion" version), but no sign of the A380 as of last week...

I guess I'll find some Neo Geo ROM sometime and try it... I've just no interest in NG though...

Build quality is OK, but on mine it appears that they didn't quite clean the burrs off the earphone jack so I'll have to disassemble and fix...

v1.2 fw

i.e. AFAICT from all that I've read these are the original design, just a new batch with a new screen... unfortunately no compatible unbricker yet...

Thanks for the info. Won't order me a new one though. As far as I'm concerned: too many probs w/ that new screen.

What?  You mean the guy that complained about "washed out" colors?  Mine doesn't seem to have that problem at least on max brightness, and I haven't tried that one ROM that he used as an example yet either but I probably won't as it'd be better for me to compare it against an actual GBA(IIRC) v. emulated on the A320...  (I'll update or add posts to my "So I went ahead..." thread in Dingoo(native) General forum... I just haven't had time to try out much yet, just did a little ps4all last night and that was about it...)

No I don't mean quality. I meand that the old Dingux kernel w/ al sorts of optimisations for TV out etc. does not run on the new screen. There is a new good Dingux for the "new" screen now, but if it's as good as the old one....

And more importantly: If your Dingoo becomes bricked during custom firmware update (if there even IS one) or during installing Dingux then the unbrick utilities won't work.

That's why.

Ah, I knew about the unbricking tool not working already, and don't really care about TV out as I doubt that I'll ever use it.

I didn't have much of a choice though, since I wanted something to try in the handheld console style hardware that was relatively cheap yet hackable while waiting to hear back from DDUSA before jumping into anything more expensive, e.g. caanoo or wait and see if something more capable(i.e. actually useful) is coming along which it sounds like there might just be unfortunately JZ4770 based rather than ARMv7.

[EDIT]
I'll try out the TV for you anyways I guess... just adding to my list of things top to test out, and all I did last night was run a few old GB games... the jury's still out on that as to whether it's better to run my actual GB or GBC and cart or play on the A320 as I dislike ALL of the various scaling options... but the 320 still has the advantage of being able to emulate multiple platforms...

Dingux:  I'm using sience's latest kernel from the 9338 thread, and it looked to me like they had gotten TV fixed, but it's on my "to try" list now...

This is going WAY offtopic but the recent posts that I've read indicate that there's no working unbricker for the new screens, but I'll take another skim through when I get the chance.  I'm not even sure that we have a copy of the fw that's on the new ones or exactly how to tell which version as about just says v1.2 SEP 29(or was it 26?) 2009 so I'm hesitant to muck with native, i.e. brick it.

Also where I got mine from. I was a little dubious at first but they were very fast and reliable. Cheapest UK price inc p&p I could find too.

Do they still stock Dingoos with the older ILI9325 and ILI9331 lcd's?

Haven't a clue, I'd guess not but they might have old stock. Best bet would be to message them and ask them, I think they have live help staff on the site (or at least they say they have).

Hi

I'm looking for a Dingoo or at least a device with the same size. Non of the links I have tried worked for me. Can somone provide me a link? (I'm from Europe, so European-Shops are appreciated, but I wouldn't mind to buy somwhere else)

And, where are all the Non-Andoid handhelds gone? I find a lot off Android-Devices but I'm not a big fan of them.

Thank you so much  :)
