The Gameboo (modified Gameboy/Dingoo)

Hi guys,

Finally finished this project. It's for a friend's birthday, and is a Dingoo A330 inside a GameBoy Original. Took me forever, luckily the A330 was the perfect size.

Cheers guys. Forgot to mention, but the only change in terms of functionality is the power switch doesn't have a 'hold' position anymore, and you have to take the Gameboy bit apart to reach the sd card slot.

Hey LXL15,

just seen your great Mod and your FANTASTIC Blog post about it! And I used to think no one else on this planet would be THIS geeky about old Nintendo stuff!  ;)

I've done a very similar Mod back in April.
Used a A320 and took a little different approach but the outcome was also very fine:

Hey toastytwo,

That's sick! I love the reset button on the side, I wish I could've done something nice like that. Mine's still a paperclip in a tiny hole arrangement haha. Yours looks super clean too. Using the smaller USB connecter was a great idea, maybe I'll grab it off my mate and change mine haha...Also the custom firmware looks so much better than the stock. Much more slick.

I seriously love that these two projects are so similar. The global reach of the internet still amazes me sometimes...

Have you modded anything else?

yeah, I was also amazed to see, that this Mod has also been done (independently) on the other side of the globe!  :o

You're running dingoo native? I could pass you some files (GB Logo?  ;)), maybe they are of some use for the A380 as well.

I've done some modding before,
a NES PC sits in the living room:



A wireless NES Controller, based on the Zeemote:
