Dead Dingoo after wall charging
« on: June 02, 2010, 06:24:23 pm »
This morning I plugged my Dingoo into the usb wall charger, but it didn't turn on. I pressed the On button and It started clicking, the same sound it makes when you boot into Dingux but in a loop. "tchk-tchk-tchk-tchk-tchk-tchk-tchk"

I put in on the pc and nothing, the same noise came out the minute I plugged my Dingoo.

I send a message to dealextreme to activate my warranty, but I haven't got an answer yet (they must be sleeping in that side of the world)

I made this video to show them this Dingoo is obviously defective.
<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20200918165657/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRsd8TpTUMQ" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRsd8TpTUMQ</a>

___
After a while of pushing the reset and power buttons, my Dingoo doesn't make the clicking sound anymore, but it doesn't turn on, it doesn't get recognized by the pc, and I can not turn it on on flashing mode by pressing the b button.

I've heard other people having problems with the wall charger aswell, so when you get a new one back from DX, I'd say don't use it.

Did it get very hot whilst charging? If so, you might have accidentally Kentucky ~~::fried::~~ your Dingoo too (see my topic on this).

Some say the speaker wires sometimes cause a short circuit. I still haven't tried to cut the speaker wires though. Good luck in reanimating 'yer Dingoo. I still miss mine. RIP. (I might replace mine w/ a LetCool gamestation if it can run Dingux/Linux too, just like the Dingoo).  :'(
Finally got me a new Dingoo after I Kentucky ~~::fried::~~ the other one. Yippee! [edit] And lost it!

nope, nothing got hot, nor the Dingoo nor the charger. Like I said, I only plugged it for like a second, and the clicking started (or it didn't turned on and when I treid to switch it on I got the clicking, can't remember well).

Besides, when I charged, everything was ok, the back of the dingoo was very mild while charging.

I really hope DX coudl send me a new one.

If your Dingoo was damaged within 50 days after shipment and the return shipping fee is less than 40% of the value of the product, then you can send it back to DX in China and receive a new one. The only thing you need to do is create a ticket and take a few pictures of your Dingoo.

There seems to be a lot of this as of late with dealextreme Dingoos, no? (aka Dingoos from Dingoo Digital, and not Dingoo Tech... probably just a coincidence).

DX answered me and I have to send my dingoo back to them so they can send me a new one.
I'm guessing the shipping cost of the package from here (Chile) to Hong Kong will be like 5-10 dollars... I hope.

Well, I hope everything works out, but I guess this whole process will be quite long. I won't have a Dingo in my hands for like 3 months or so.

But the 2 middle pins are not for data transfer?
They have to be 5V too?
