My modded version of v1.2
« on: November 05, 2009, 03:48:54 pm »
Mod note: There are several reports this custom firmware bricks the dingoo. Use at your own risk ;)

I made this modded version of firmware version 1.2, it fixes some of the english, allows custom themes and has the language set to english by default. I'm not saying this is hard to do, I just did this for myself and decided to post it here in case someone felt like using it. This shouldn't cause any bricks, but if it does you can always unbrick it by using the unbrick tool.
NOTE: USING THE UNBRICK TOOL WILL FORMAT THE MEMORY!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BACKUP ALL IMPORTANT FILES BEFORE TRYING THIS FIRMWARE

Instructions:
Copy the "a320.hxf" file and the system folder from the rar file over to the root of your dingoo.
Now unplug the usb cable, turn it off and hold down on the d-pad while turning it on to install the firmware.

Download:
Removed, for now....

I've installed your version, but it is hanging at the dingoo digital screen. Can anyone else confirm this as working for them or not?

How much testing has this had before you released it?

You might want to post a warning for folks to back up their Dingoos before having innocent folks go into "guinea pig mode" installing untested custom firmware.

but if it does you can always unbrick it by using the unbrick tool.
a backup warning would be nice, as unbricking deletes everything on the Dingoo.

I think I found the problem....
Forgot to set default theme. I'll upload a new version in a bit. Again it's at your own risk.

Any chance to get a version that's clocked at 400Mhz?

It just includes the regular overclock apps, it's not overclocked by default(e.g not having to run an app each time you turn it on).
