Custom Firmware
« on: October 29, 2009, 01:31:36 pm »
Hi All,

Can some one give me the low down on the custom firmwares...

1) Whats the best one to use?

2) Is it worth it?

3) Pro`s and con`s?

4) How easy to install

The reson being - I do use Dingux most of the time - but I am interested in trying a different firmware  ;D

Well, the main reason to use custom firmware is to have themes.
Right now, this is what you'll want: http://www.dingoo-digital.com/downloads/firmwares/custom-firmware-a320-103td-3

However, this is based on the old 1.03 firmware which could have some problems with new emulators by alekmaul and others, especially in combination with the hacked MD emulator.

The best thing would be if someone customized the 1.10 or 1.11 firmware instead.

I'm using the pre-overclocked firmware with updated codecs from here. Thank god that backup forum is online, otherwise that firmware would've been semi-lost. :P

It's chinese though, so you'll prolly need to remember how to set the menu to English right after flashing. here I provide the path to the Language-setting.
Write/save problems? Segmentation faults? Black screens? Read the Troubleshooting and FAQ guide first to fix your issues! :)
SD Card readonly/corruption issues? Chkdisk /F and steer clear from DMenu: use GMenu instead!
