hi is there a decent custom firmware for the a330 and if i install it does it remove the dual boot dingux which was pre installed when purchased

Any A320 firmware should work with the DT-A330. The custom Dingoonity firmware is as good as any. The only reason to use a custom firmware is purely aesthetic (you can change the weird menu names and icons and stuff).

You might want to reinstall the dingux dual boot anyway. I bet the one they pre-installed on yours isn't even the one with 64MB of RAM. And really that's the main reason to get a DT-A330 over an A320.

Here's the dingux bootloader with 64MB of RAM.

And once you install that bootloader, you need to use the zImage kernel with 64MB of ram enabled . You can find it in this minimal local pack.
