Firmware v 1.22?
« on: December 23, 2009, 02:32:15 am »
Just received my black dingoo today but have been lurking on the forums for a while...

My system shows software version 1.22 - does anyone know what the difference is between this and the official/unofficial 1.20 releases?

I bought a black dingoo recently w/ paw from NCIX and it also has firmware 1.22.

Is there a way to rip the original firmware and upload it to someone who cares? I haven't messed w/ the unit all that much aside from launching a few emus and playing around with it so I'd have no idea what the differences are.

There should be a A320.HXF on the root of your Dingoo. :)

There should just be a "a320.HFX" file in the root of your dingoo. Just upload that single file. plz

Hrmm, I don't see any file like that in the root?

I'm using Win 7

Do I have to mount it in a special way?

EDIT: There's gotta be some kind of hidden memory on this thing because I don't see any system files on the device.

You could go to control panel > Folder options > Show hidden and system files

maybe that could help

The chance for finding the hfx file on new bought dingoo is 1-100.. You would be lucky if yours had the hfx file. All of the dingoo is pre-installed with the latest firmware directly from the factory. They do not put the hfx file in it :P

I will verify with Dingoo Digital China if in fact it is a real new firmware or something just changed by a China retailer or something...

Since it's unlikely that I will be able to upload the firmware unless someone has a method for dumping it I will take pictures of the various menu screens and maybe someone can discern something meaningful. All the emus are v 1.0 and nothing seems changed in that regard.

I just have to find my digi-cam charger and hopefully upload some pics later tonight. I honestly have no idea where the camera charger is though but I've been meaning to find it for a while and this seems like a worthwhile reason.

HOW ABOUT YOU PLUG IN YOUR DINGOO INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF THE ROOT FOLDER PLZ

I don't know why I'm doing this since it's already been verified that it's unlikely to have an .hfx file in the root but here is a picture of the root:

Here is a picture of the 'settings -> about' screen:

Not sure about that firmware... I tried going to the webpage listed (www.dingoo888.cn) and that redirects to www.dingoo888.cn/cn which brings up what appears to be a chinese 404 page.  I'm thinking that this firmware is probably just a 1.20 with some bits changed to show 1.22 instead of 1.20...
just my 2 cents...
