Sega Genisis Compatibility - Sword of Sodan
« on: November 05, 2011, 04:40:37 pm »
Hiya all.

Has anyone had problems getting Sword of Sodan to run on Dingoo A320, i have used both Dingux Picodrive and the Native and about 4 different roms, but game just hands with title screen in red.

A found a few more games that would not run or had glitches some i fixed with another rom (so rom was problem)

Is there a compatibility list out there, or does some have some games that do not run on Dingoo

Thanks

Copy it again into SD Card.
I've got one problem like that solved this way.

I was trying to run a game that was corrupted during copying.
It did a red screen like yours.
If you get a black screen maybe the same.

I think its just the rom

Sword of Sodan

I just dont think it works on Dingoo, tried both native emu, Picodrive Dingux.

tried rom from various sources, inc .gen and .bin renamed to smd and also converted to .smd and even tried smd rom from off the internet.

They all do the same, so i guess Sword of Sodan does not work?

Also tried on my other 2 Dingoos and the same.....

I guess only way is seeing if someone on this forum has actually tried and got Sword of Sodan to work.

Ok, so I tried this with the native MD emulator 1.0.
  • Run the game and wait til you get the red screen
  • go to the emulator options, change the frameskip to 0 and choose reset game
  • push the start button to skip the intro
With this the game should play with no problems, at least I was able to run it on my 320.
Hope it works for you too.

Seemed to work, thanks.

Does not seem to matter what frameskip. The fix seems to be reset game and hold start for a short while to skip past the EA into and Main Screen, kinda a weird how the main screen crashes the game.

But indeed pressing start after reset does take you to the game and it plays, once again thanks.
