Problem Getting LynGOO Working.
« on: September 03, 2010, 12:18:15 pm »
Hi everyone. Long time reader, first time poster... please be gentle with me  ;D

I'm having some trouble getting LynGOO working on my (pawed) A320, and in fact I had the same issue with Colecoo as well, any assistance anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Basically, I've got the LynGOO.sim file and Lynxboot.img in the 'GAME' folder and I've created a seperate folder for roms, 'Lynx'. Whenever I go the the 'Lynx' folder to try and start up a game, all I get is the 'No File Found' message, although there's plenty of *.lnx files in there!

I've tried renaming the 'Lynx' folder and moving the roms to different locations but I just can't get them to show up anywhere other than in the 'Browser' section. As I mentioned before, I've had the same issue with Colecoo.

Anyone else had this problem, or has anyone got any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Let the firmware complete it?s updating after disconnecting from USB, or select Update Jukebox in the Music section.   ;)

Thanks for that eule, that would probably explain why I'm having problems. For the past few months, whenever I unplug my Dingoo, it runs through the updating process until the bar is about 70% of the way along then just skips straight to the end, displays 'Update Finished', then freezes until such time as I press the reset button.  >:(

I've just tried updating the jukebox as you suggested but it just freezes there as well. I'm assuming then that it's never actually completing the update process. Maybe I need to strip it back down to basics and reinstall everything?  ???

It used to update with no problems so I'm not sure what's changed. Any thoughts?

Have you got Dingux installed? If so, try the updating without the SD inserted, so it doesn?t scan the whole SD.
If not, it sounds like a corruption issue, which you could get rid of with scandisk (i think) or backing up and formatting, which would suck indeed.
Or you could update the firmware, dunno if that would help though, you wouldn?t lose everything as by formatting...
So let?s hope it?s the SD.  :D

Yeah, I've got Dingux installed so I've tried it without the SD card in but still no joy  :(. I'm running the 1.03 TD-3 Custom Firmware, is it worth trying a firmware upgrade or better just to bite the bullet and go for a format? Also, if I do format it, is it just a case of formatting as you would any other kind of external drive then dropping the backed-up files back onto it or is there more to it than that?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, my little A320 has been as good as gold for the past 2 years so I haven't really had to go into any depth about re-formatting etc!

Cheers again for your assistance eule!

I?d update the firmware to 1.2, yours hasn?t even the Y/B button fix in it. Even if it doesn?t help you lost nothing and could still format afterwards (yes: backup, format by right clicking on the 4GB, copy files back). Scandisk might be worth a shot too, but i honestly dunno how to run it in XP/7...  ???

Cool, I'll have a go at updating tonight and if that doesn't work, then I'll format it. Tried Scandisk but it only had a couple of dodgy timestamps, I fixed them but still no change.  :-\

Incidentally, incase you were interested - in XP, Scandisk is no longer supported, instead you need to run chkdsk [drive:] from the command prompt (with a /f suffix to fix issues if you want).

Thanks for all your assistance. I'll lert you know how I get on.
