Title: Not able to see some game visuals during game play.
Post by: dragarn on April 22, 2013, 04:28:45 am
I currently have the White A330 and most games have worked fine to this point. A few games on the other hand seem to have layers that aren't visible. Two particular games are Secret of Mana and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past. I have pictures but not sure how to post them on here.
On the zelda, when exiting the house initially at the beginning, The only things visible are the sprites, the roof, and the rain, everything else is black.
And on SoM during the first scene the log they are standing on isn't visible.
I have downloaded multiple ROMs from different sites and it does the same thing.
So now I'm confused on what I should do.
How do I fix this?

What emulator are you using? Have you tried the same rom in other emulators?

They are the standard emulators out of the box.

Maybe those are known issues of the stock emulator, try another and see if that's still hapenning. I've overwrited the stock emulator long ago so I can't check those games on my Dingoo, but there are better options like PocketSNES or DingooSNES from lion's emulators pack.

EDIT: Reading Waiting's post down here I realized I got confused with the section and tought you were talking about the A320. I have no idea if there's another SNES emulator for the A330.

White A330?  As in the Gemei A330? If so, wrong forum section. "Dingoo Official Firmware" is for  the Dingoo Digital A320 / Dingoo Tech A330 (which doesn't come in white). The Gemei is a completely different system.

Isn't there a re-brand of the Gemei A330 by DD that says Dingoo A330 on it? This Chinese PMP crap...

Either way you need to change a video setting, on Dingoo A320 it's called transparency (or accurate rendering if using the Lion emulator), have no idea if your console can do it or not as I'm not familiar with it.

Is yours like this one?

(http://electronics.pickegg.com/Electronics-image/2011-4/Dingoo-A330-3-0-inch-Gemei-A330-4GB-Internal-2-4GHz-Receiver-Module-Game-Station-White-6343845894531725001.JPG)

If so, it is a rebranded Gemei A330. The original SNES emulator doesn?t support transparencies. There's a port of PocketSnes for the Gemei which should work well on your console and supports them.

You can find it on it's forum: http://boards.dingoonity.org/gemei-a330/ (http://boards.dingoonity.org/gemei-a330/)

Yeah, that's the one I have. I'll check out the link and see how that goes for me. I'll keep y'all updated.

I downloaded and installed the new emulator, and Link to the Past works fine. Now, on the other hand, when playing Secret of Mana all the text is messed up and looks funny. Tried two different ROMs and got the same thing.

Try doing a search for a hacked version of it with modified text font size (i think is the correct terminology for it).

I saw one awhile back somewhere but alas, I can't remember where...
