neogeo graphics issue
« on: June 25, 2010, 05:04:36 am »
I just installed a bunch of neogeo games and I've noticed that several have graphics issues, actually the same issue. When things scale or animate they appear as only scquares. This happens a lot and I know it didn't with the last Dingoo I had. It happens every time during the animated NEOGEO logo when a game boots up. Any Ideas?

This is a known issue that will likely never be officially fixed. It appears to have been a result of the manufacturers making a hardware change without rewriting the emulators to compensate. The Neo Geo scaling issue is the most serious result, though the GBA emu was also affected in a different manner. The Neo Geo scaling problem still exists on the A330, which is what makes me believe it will never be officially fixed -- they could/should have fixed it with the A330 but didn't.

If you install Dingux, you can use the FBA emulator to play Neo Geo games without any scaling issues at all.

I had a look, but my skill sucks.  ;D
Gngeo seems to be very portable, the thing why it was so fast on GP2x are the ARM assembler cores, the Dingoo could only use the plain C-cores. Don?t know how fast/slow it would be though, as i said, my porting skill sucks...
