Is there an Atari 2600 emulator for the native OS?
« on: January 10, 2011, 07:06:40 am »
Hi. I know that there is an Atari 2600 emulator for Dingux. But I'd like to know if there is an Atari 2600 emulator for the native Dingoo OS. Is there any work in progress that you know about? I haven't found anything...

I believe the answer is 'no'.  Too bad - the 2600 is perhaps my favorite of the classic 8-bit systems.

Why too bad? There's an emulator for dingux so you can play 2600 on your Dingoo already.

As for me I still don't have a miniSD card, so I'm not able to install Dingux. That's why I wish there was an Atari emulator for the native OS. It's really too bad that the manufacturers didn't include one, the most classic 8-bit system. What a shame...

The hassle of 15 minutes of work..at most... People are funny! GIVE ME! GIVE ME! but don't make me have to do something to get what I want.

I don't get it.  If you think emulators for Dingux are the only way to go then why are you posting in the Native forum..?

Who says he thinks that? Nothing he said would imply that he thinks that.

You said the Atari 2600 is your favorite. Yet 20 minutes of "hassle" (setting up Dingux) is too big a price?

Damn I offer help and get a smart ass answer. Ignore the link to the tutorials in my previous post since you wont click on it because it will take 10 or 20 seconds out of your life of instant gratification... In the meantime you might want to talk to clach04 he ported the dingux tg16 emulator over to native so maybe he can drop everything and port the 2600 emulator for you. If not your out of luck until someone wants to port it to the native. Hey come to think of it in the time it took us to reply to each other you could have installed dingux and would be able to play some demon attack, river raid, beamrider, pitfall(not pitfall II it runs too slow!), and the official sega version of frogger. Gotta go play some centipede now.
