How do I install the Dingoo Emulation Pack?
« on: December 22, 2013, 04:16:54 am »
Hi Everyone,

I wanted to try the SNES emulator distributed in the Dingoo Emulation Pack v2.0, but I am having no success getting it working.  I copied the "DingooSNES.sim.fast" file (renaming it to "DingooSNES.sim") along with some SMC game files into my GAME directory. However, neither the games or the emulator show up under 3D Games or Interesting Games. I ran the "Update Jukebox" under the Music menu but it didn't make any difference. I have also tried the DingooSNES.sim.accurate and the files from DEP v1.4. I am just haing no luck with this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Don't forget to remove your current SNES emulator. The native OS does a file extension association with each emulator, but if it finds more than 1 .sim emulator for a certain extension it ignores all those .sim files, leaving you with no emulator for those games.

Also, .sim emulators are launched automatically when you select a game, so don't search for a way to launch the emulator directly, just try to select a .smc or .sfc file (check the readme files of the pack, I guess it says exactly what file extensions are supported).

Hi DiegoSLTS,

Thanks for the quick reply...

I did remove the factory emulator and configuration file from the GAMES directory before installing the new DingooSNES.SIM file. When that didn't work, I completely deleted the GAMES folder and let the A320 rebuild it. Afterwards, I copied the DingooSNES.SIM file back into the GAMES directory along with some games. Still no luck. Finally, I reformatted the entire unit, let it rebuild the directory structure on its own and then copied the emulator and games back over again. Nothing.

I have had this thing for almost two years and never got it working satisfactory. I am now tired of screwing with it. - To the trash bin.

Thank you DiegoSLTS, your help is appreciated.

Just the SNES emulator, or are none of the .sims from the DEP 2.0 working?
