gnuboy Native OS problems.
« on: April 03, 2011, 05:27:24 am »
Hey all, I just received my dingoo a320 today and so far I love it, its great. However, I have one issue. I've tried to put the gnuboy emulator on it and whenever I try to open up a GB or GBC rom it freezes. My dingoo has the paw on the back (though I still tried the paw fix) but no matter what I try it does not work. I put the GNUBOY.SIM in the Games directory so its in the right place so I really don't know what is wrong, I've tried several different ROMS and each one freezes, I've also tried them multiple times etc...

So yeah, any help would be much appreciated.

Someone please close this thread. I have resolved this issue on my own, thanks.

It needs to be HK patched... I should probably get around replacing the file on openhandhelds.
For now, get the gnuboy.sim from this pack and it'll work: http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingoo-games-and-homebrew/dingoo-mega-pack-2-0/

I am sorry to reopen this topic, but my Dingoo show the same problems described by Bitoko. I have tried both the non-paw and paw versions, and the one contained in the mega-pack. All of them freeze at startup (I hear a brief "discharge" sound from the speakers, then the Dingoo is stucked).

Thanks for any help!

Have a look if you have any conflicting emulators, like a gb.sim/gbc.sim or any other gameboy emulator (except GBA.sim, that one is fine ofc). You could also try to force a refresh by doing Update Jukebox from the music menu.

Also, maybe not very likely, but make sure your games aren't corrupted, check if they work on your computer.

Thanks for your suggestion! Actually, the rom were "corrupted", more precisely, the dimension was 0 byte!!! You really helped me, it is 5 days that I'm fighting with the gameboy emulators both native and in dingux, all failing in strange ways, and I never thought of checking the roms with a PC emu!!!  :P

Thanks again!!!
