DINGOO ( A380 ) software + Emulation
« on: September 21, 2011, 02:05:18 pm »
I was wondering if anyone has noticed that the Dingoo A380 does not recognize
.SIM files anymore.

Also neo-geo roms now have to be in the .FBA file extension format to work as
Final Burn Alpha is built-in directly to the A380 now
and these files can be put Anywhere in any folder root or not and still booted.

Also most dingux .dge files wont work on the New A380 using the native setup...
But others dont run at all.. But will on the A330 using dingux installed..
I did not want to try and install a duel boot to the A380 just in case something went wrong or was even incompatible.

So... Does this mean we need a NEW Emulation section JUST for the A380 ?

 :-\

Any replies welcome.

SS.

I dont think there will be an emulation section for the A380. They didnt release the sources yet (probably never will) so....

Everyone here now hates Dingoo Tech and (especially) their A380.  :P

..Well i would not go so far as saying hating the A380..

Its early days..

I for one would miss the 2 players with 2 controllers and with tv out all at the same time.. and the wireless multiplayer network server at school
Not to mention the speed increase  ;D

And Nearly every emulation can be done straight out of the box with no extra installs needed.

( I was more concerned about future emulation as the A330 seems to be different to the A380 in reading software . )

It might even happen the other way around.. Future programs written for the A380 wont work on the A330.

Thing is, all the programs the "dingoo a380" has "out of the box" are actually unlicensed ports (Didn't release credits/source code) from the programs ported to the dingoo a320.

Dingoo Tech didn't respect the porters, so they won't even pay attention to the A380 in case they don't release the source codes along with the credits.

So far, you should have picked an A320 rather than an A380.

@edit Also, don't expect anyone to write any program to the A380. Dingoo Technology doesn't seem to care for this in the very end.

Just like the A320 and every other pmp out there :P

But yea, difference is that the ones they have are probably based on stuff from this community.

 Thats possibly true...

I notice that most 'system files' are hidden on the A380..
Dont know if that to stop us deleting them.. or reading them !

But i was surprised to see that the 'STELLA atari EMU' roms browser displayed all of the A380 hidden files...

Now if only i could upload them to my PC and start editing.
 ;)

..Ok ive just found this:

http://www.dingoo.hk/manage/download/A380%20SDK.rar

Maybe this will help with Emulators.
