Adding New Emulators to Dingoonity Firmware 1.2
« on: November 06, 2013, 07:54:08 am »
Hello,

I just updated to 1.2 and my emulators are some weird chinese names with some distinguishable features in the characters CPS1 and FC(chinese characters).

How do I go about downloading and installing new emulators? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend to search the Dingoo file archive for "native" and in some cases (NeoGeo, CPS1, CPS2, GBA) "default" emulators:

http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/dingoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,5

Most of them will be in .SIM format once they are unpacked and usually they have to be placed into the "GAME" folder. Some emulators (Atari 7800, GBA and Lynx) will require additional bios files. Check the readme instructions or browse this forum.

For Megadrive/ NES/ SNES/ SMS/ Game Gear/ SG1000/ Colecovision emulation I'd highly recommend lion_rsm's Dingoo Emulation Pack v2.0:

http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingoo-releases/dingoo-emulation-pack-v2-0-%28final-release-with-sources%29/

And if you are using his emulators you can save a lot of space following this mass compression guide:

http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingoo-releases/%28tutorial%29-mass-compression-of-roms-for-dingooxxxx-native-emulators/msg42993/#msg42993
