Title: VGA output (1024x768) on the Ben Nanonote
Post by: wejp on May 04, 2011, 05:59:45 pm
As it is rather quiet here in this section, I thought it couldn't hurt to mention an interesting project I have read (http://lists.en.qi-hardware.com/pipermail/discussion/2011-April/007878.html) about. There is this little breakout board for the MicroSD slot of the Ben Nanonote available and people are starting to do hardware hacks with it. A very interesting one is the UBB-VGA (http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/UBB-VGA) project.

With a rather simple circuitry (looks like a simple D/A converter built with some resistors) and some fancy software, it is possible to output high resolution graphics to a VGA monitor. I think although it is all still work in progress, it is already quite impressive.

Great news indeed.
But what we need, I think, is the dosbox port from Slaanesh. With it, NN will be a very good little Portable (old) PC.
and with the VGA extension...
