Selling Snail Devices
« on: August 16, 2017, 04:09:10 am »
Hi all. I'd like some advice on my direction forward here. I currently have the Snail W1 (78P01) and W3D. In light of the MotoMod Gamepad, I have a complete gaming solution, so I would like to sell these devices.

However, my dilemma is worth. Do you think these devices are worth selling, and if so, what is a good price? I was thinking 150 for the W3D, and 50 for the Snail W1 (78P01). All devices are in great condition with original box and accessories. I even have a broken Snail W1 for parts. The digitizer is wonky on that one, but it does have an extra battery and other working phone parts.

The biggest issue, and the reason why I stopped using them, is that I don't get full network in my area with these devices. There was a flood here last year and AT&T network went down. It got incredibly worse with the 2G shutdown. Phone service with these devices hasn't been the same since. It seems due to them being unbranded, they were only granted access to the 850 frequency, which the 78P01 doesn't have.

Honestly, they are, in my neck of the woods, Android gaming devices only, hence the sharp price drop. Only when I'm far away from my general living area do I get network connection. I can even make phone calls at home with the W3D.

So, my question is, not asking anyone to buy, unless interested, but at the prices I have for them, would you purchase them, knowing they may not work as a phone?

As for them working overseas, I think they would be fine anywhere else except the US.

I plan to list them on Ebay and will list them as Android Gaming devices only.

Those are very cheap prices, they will probably sell fast at those price points. After holding a Moto Z, that mod is going to be huge and the battery life probably wouldn't be awesome for gaming and emulation. I say hold on to the W3D until you get a good personal feel for the Moto mod and see how it all works together in your everyday life. I personally like having dedicated devices. I use to own the W1, and the ability to pop my sim in when I was in a pickle is worth it in my opinion. If I had the cash I would take that W3D off your hands! Wish I had something worth trading to you. I have a Vita if you want it X)

That's a great price on the W3D.  May be a fun toy to play with.  Let me ask the wife tomorrow and see if she'll get mad.  I just preordered a controller for the S7 Edge and ordered the Cube Mix Plus (w/ stylus and keyboard), so I'm not sure if she's cut me off yet.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll get the devices cleaned up and ready for showcase. The sharp price drop is due to their use in the U.S., in which I'm unsure of. A few cities over, I can get full signal, but around my area, I get nothing, so I can't guarantee their usability as phones.

I'll be prepping the devices and boxes for pics to upload so I won't list them for sale until the weekend maybe. I kinda want to do a side by side with the Moto Gamepad so everyone can see the size difference.

As for anyone interested in purchase, you all have first crack at them. I can't say for sure if I can do international shipment. I'll speak with the Post Office to confirm, or I may just use a shipping service to make sure everything is done correctly.

I also have an Xperia Play for $20 if anyone interested. Has all accessories and box.

roneyizpie - I actually have a Vita collecting dust right now, lol! I do use it from time to time for some remote PS4 play.

LordDavon - Goodluck! Can goods aren't that bad when you cook them on the stove, lol!

I guess the prices were good. Devices have been sold. Guess I won't be able to do that side by side comparison.

Anytime! I didn't know much about these devices till I came here. I bought my first Snail W1 from a user here named Diabloutinbouky. Surprised he hasn't come here to say he has the Snail I7 in stock on his site.

Personally, the Snail devices got me ready to carry a full on gaming phone. I originally thought the W3D was going to be massive, and while it is, not quite as massive as I thought.

The Moto Mod Gamepad seems long at the worst of it. But for the features it offers, such as extended battery and a headphone jack, which the Z2Force lacks, not to mention the gaming aspect, allowing for full controller playback of any game. It's Android so remote play over data can be done, so portable PC gaming, emulators, even Dolphin since the Z2Force is 64bit......................(takes a breath) yeah, it's worth it, lol!

A Xperia play for $20. I would never sell my Xperia play for $20. Most on e-bay are selling between $200- $300.
They're also some for around $100 but their from China.

Yeah, In all honesty, I just want it to go to a good home, lol! It's a Verizon Model - R800X, and I think the ones that sell for the most are the International models - R800i.

Never really had an issue with battery life, but if need be, there's a bigger battery for it on ebay.
Oh, i came late...

Yeah, they been gone, lol!
