Price is a joke to be honest carrying a SD710. And no l2/r2 buttons....
I hope these guys make a 60 hz screen for once at least......

Well, this is a twist. Hopefully it releases with full support of US carriers, otherwise I'd just run into the same issue I had before. So far, Motomod Gamepad still reigns supreme, just missing root though, so I can use Tincore on some apps. I'm interested though.

The MOQI is one of the first aimed at global markets, although it does look an awful lot like a model the company was showing off a year and a half ago.

The smartphone features a 6 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass 3, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 6,000 mAh battery  and a 16MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. It ships with Android 8.1.

Gaming features include a 9-axis gravity sensor, two analog sticks, a D-pad, X,Y,A, and B buttons, left and right shoulder buttons, and select and start buttons. There?s also a liquid cooling system to keep the phone from overheating during use.

It also has stereo speakers, a headphone jack, a microSD card reader and a USB Type-C port.

I backed it already. Backer #13. Would I rather have a Snapdragon 8billion? Yeah, sure. But the SD660 in testing is pretty close to the SD820 and this is stronger than a 660. If we get somewhere between 821 (Should be able to beat that) and 835 (should clock in just under this) I'll be really happy with it.

Price is pretty good IMO- 399 for a well equipped smartphone isn't bad at all - IF - you are used to paying US carrier pricing. My Note 8 was a 4 figure purchase, so this is much less to me. It's more than the normal Snail i5/i7 W3D etc. but it has better hardware too.

Benchmark for 710 vs 821;

On Centurion Mark, we have given Snapdragon 710 a score of 113 points. This is higher than that of 820 & 821 but lesser than that of 835 and 845.

On Antutu Benchmarking Tool, both the Mi 8 SE (SD710) and Vivo Nex A (SD710) reach a gigantic score. Mi 8 SE gets 174,333 points while the Vivo nex A reaches 173,598 points.

This score is even higher than the likes of Snapdragon 820 and 821.

Other than that, I'm hoping this device does really well. I'd love to see Moqi be able to do some follow ups and different designs and carve out a small niche like GPD has. To get more gaming phones, we need to prove we're willing to buy the ones that do get made, however few and far between.

Do you work with the group responsible for this device? How is it coming along? One of my biggest needs is that it works well with carrier networks here in the US. My W3D just up and stopped working on ATT network. Even with bands that it used to work with.

If you have any updates, fell free to share.

Thanks!

Can anyone who has bought one of these tell me how they work around the no L2/R2 issue when it comes to N64/GameCube/PS1 emulation? I?m really interested in buying one of these over a GPD XD+ (mainly for better build quality and finally some half decent GC emulation on a device with built in controls) but my major concern is how I would go about assigning the Z button for Ninty emus etc.
