it would be nice to be able to have bold code because some times you want to make something stick out in the code... like something that the person mush change.
Unfortunately, because of the nature of the code tag, this isn't possible (as it would parse bb code, html code, etc.)
you could use quote tags in place of code though, and use bold within that, e.g:
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
