Which version of Final Fantasy III/VI should I play?

Hi all!

I'm thiiiis close to finishing Chrono Trigger on my Dingoo (holy crap that is a great game!) and I'm trying to decide what RPG to play next. I'm leaning toward Final Fantasy III/VI (III in the US, VI in Japan.)

Because the game has multiple translations and ports, I'm wondering which version would be best. Since I will need to play in English, my options seem to include:

* The original US SNES release from 1994
* The GBA release from 2006
* A Japanese rom patched with an English translation
* A GBA rom with patches to adjust the color and sound to more closely match the SNES version
What do you all suggest? I am leaning toward the patched GBA rom, because I've heard that is the best translation, but I'd love to hear from someone who's played the game, possibly in multiple versions.

Also, is there more than one translation patch for the Japanese SNES version? The main one I'm finding is from RPGOne.

I would pick the gba version, it's slightly prettier and the sound is better. The snes versions are all great, but gba just beats it for me. Also on the dingoo for some reason it is a little juddery to begin with on gba, but soon sorts itself out. I'd recommend seiken densetsu 3 on the snes or bahumut lagoon if you want to try some great translated games. ( radical dreamers is from the chronic series, but is not like you'd think).

 WOOOOOW
I have just finished CT on my Dingoo :-D  what a coincidence
Well if you have not played FFIV (GBA) already than i highly suggest you to try it . It is so amazing (not better than CT of course but , still an amazing game )

Otherwise i suggest any english GBA port because the grafical preformance on Dingoo is better than on the SNES.

BTW : What ending did you get ?  SLIGHT SPOILER ! i got the moonlight parade with my cats runnining into gate.
it is kinda sad that i do not know who is responcible for the gates ...

Thanks for the recommendations!
I'm going to go with the patched GBA version. I did a little side-by-side comparison of the two versions on my Dingoo and I prefer the color of the patched version. For future reference, here are the two patches I used. (Though I actually downloaded a pre-patched rom, you can Google "Final Fantasy VI Advance Restored" to find it.)

Thanks also for the recommendations of seiken densetsu 3 and bahumut lagoon. I'll definitely check them out.

OK I tried to play Final Fantasy VI Advance, but I am having a problem with saving.

In game saves don't seem to work; they always come up as being corrupt. GBATA isn't able to SRAM patch the game as far as I can tell.

Worse yet, Save States don't seem to work. Whenever I resume a save state, the audio freezes up into a loop, and if I start a battle all of the text is missing. It's unplayable.

Has anybody else tried this game in the Dingoo's native emulator? Any tricks I don't know about? I can play the SNES version, but I'd prefer to play the GBA translation for the reasons mentioned above.
