@ LoskThanks! Yeah, I've known about the JXD 100 for a while and I've thought about buying one to compare the two, but the JXD 100 has been reviewed to death so I'd rather focus on getting my hands on more obscure stuff. Speaking of which, there's a Russian unit called the PGP AIO that looks like an interesting competitor but I can't find anyone selling one. If anyone has any ideas on how to get one, please let me know and I might review it!
@ lordhardwareNow I'm wishing I had tested ROMs in the video. I got an SD card with roms and it does recognize there's an SD card in there because a little notice popped up. But no matter which folder I went into, it kept telling me "No Files Found." Even stranger, when I connected the device to my computer and searched its files, I went through every folder and couldn't find its own ROMs anywhere.
It does play music files, I just didn't play music in the video because, again, I don't want the YouTube copyright bots to take down my video. But back to your question- can you use it as an MP3 player? Well, answer this question first: how many times do you adjust the volume while using your MP3 player? If your answer is any more than "never" then
NO you cannot use this as an MP3 player because you can't access the volume controls without taking it apart. Plus it has that issue where it randomly does a factory reset and when it does that the volume goes to its highest setting.
@ toby DYep! That 2.8" screen device is the exact same one I had in mind to do a comparison with! I'm surprised this seller didn't mention that the little thing on the top that looks like a camera is actually a laser pointer. Even better, check out the reviews on those devices, the laser pointer projects an image of a bear or a robot! There are other alternatives too, but I'm not really considering the JXD 100 because as I said above, it's already been reviewed to death. I'm looking at my options and I might,
might do a poll to decide which one I review next.
