Question About JXD systems
« on: February 17, 2012, 08:57:56 PM »
Hi guys I'm new here sorry to make myself on kind of a rush quest but my girlfriend birthday is coming up extremely soon. And i was wondering which is best the JXD A1000 or JXD S601 Android with WIFI?  I am thinking about getting myself one too but that will have to wait she comes first. :) I currently have a Dingoo Digital A320 coming.
In the mail but i'll just hang on to and play movies on it and a few games!

So here is what i am trying to understand doe the JXD A1000 have the same features the S601 Android have?
Like being able to play 64bit games like n64 and Sega Dreamcast? I think i seen someone playing a dreamcast game on youtube but don't think it's the same model.  And also are the both of those are touch screen.
I've looked on google and in fact googled for hours trying to find JXD website even thought they probably have one
It's probably in Chinese though but i don't care i could translate it if i needed to find out from that view.

Thanks in advance guys!

Please help i don't have much time left. :'(

definitely s601, the other is crap compared to it (well, actually its crap on its own too, but the tastes are different lol)

oh, but take into consideration the shipping needs long unless you order per some expensive shipping service (in that case just write to the jxd contact mail directly, they do sell single ones to private persons)

Out of those two the s601 is definitely the more capable device. It emulates everything up to PS1 really well and there's also quite a lot of N64 games which work fine too (more of a control issue than a processing power one). As it runs Android there is always going to be new software available,

Not had any experience of the A1000 but from reviews it seems like it's on the same level as the A320 without all the extra native and Dingux software which that console offers.
Handhelds:
JXD S7300b, Dingoo, DS Lite, GBA SP, PSP, HTC One X, HTC Dream.
Netbooks/Palmtops:
Acer 522 (4gb ram) Radeon 6310 - MSI Wind U230 (4gb ram and DTV card installed)
Psion Series 5 and 5mx, Psion Series 3 and Psion Siena

Thank you too dude I'm highly convinced now!

One more thing i forgot to add, does it come with RCA TV out cables?
If it doesnt would my Dingoo 320 RCA fit? Just curious thats all i seen a lot of
guys on youtube with tv/out in their cool videos.

it does not come with the stereo like plug to rca out, and I am fairly confident that the tv out doesn't work in the version that is supplied.

On all the listings it says "tv out available as upgrade" I think they meant this as an actual firmware update rather than upgrade. Good and/or bad news is that the hardware is there, and it works, it's fuintion is just not enabled in the software.

More better news I just found out today is that the hardware (aml8726-m3 chipset) used in the JXD S601 has an android 4.0 port done to it out in the wild now. Not sure how long that is going to take to trickle it's way to our device (if it ever does) but it's definately on the realm of possible. And if not offically, source shoud be released at some point that would allow us to do it ourselves if not officially.

And to re-itterate, if comparing the JXD 1000 to the S601, it's not even a competition, the 601 kills the 1000 in available software, specs, openess, and build quality. Comparing it to the already mature Dingoo... thats a tough call, if enough people jump on the S601 wagon it has potential to be the next dingoo if you ask me.

I agree with SNESFAN. It's hard to compare the JXD S601 with the dingoo in some ways, because the dingoo has a big following. The dingoo runs linux, which you may or may not prefer to android (which the S601 runs), and is very well supported by the community. I have ported a couple of things to opendingux myself :)

I think that dingoos are more expensive now than when I got mine a few years ago, so I think that the S601 is cheaper currently (correct me if I'm wrong). Also, the S601 has *much* more powerful hardware (faster CPU, 512MB of ram vs 32MB, has a GPU, etc, higher res *touch* screen). This hardware gives it much better emulation than the Dingoo's questionable snes emulation, and it can emulate PSX very well, and N64 too. N64 could probably benefit from the ability to overclock though, which we don't currently have. The dingoo is fantastic for less resource intensive SNES games, most GBA games and anything older :)

If we can get kernel source for the S601, it would make it very for the community to support it.

I think the s601 actually compares quite favourably to the mature Dingoo, after all it's not like there isn't  a ton of software already available seeing as it's a capable Android device. The s601 is already a mature device really, especially with the good work from Snesfan etc.
There's not a lot that it can't do that the A320 can and almost everything that they both run the s601 comes out on top.

I think that's the great thing about an Android console, there's always going to be software and a thriving scene to some degree regardless of whether your actual device is popular or not.

lol! sorry, it just sounded funny... make sure to charge it first, then hold the power bottom middle for a second or two you should see the JXD splash screen, android logo screen, then finally the gamehub interface

hit the bottom left square first, then hit menu>settings in there the first option on list is wifi, the time/date is lower on that same list.

the first "settings" is the stupid gamehub settings. Once you get comfortable I'd suggest installing another launcher, you don't need to root it to do this, just download a adwlauncher.apk from the internet and install
