PMP3100?

Anyone know anything about this?  It plays GBA games only according to the box.  Looks very Dingoo-esque.

Every other PMP out of China looks Dingoo-esque these days, if you ask me.

Like there are a million PSP and GBA lookalikes out there, because of their popularity, people are ripping off the dingoo design.

I'd have expected the internals and firmware to be identical with this machine, but it seems like a different sunplus based machine in a cloned Dingoo package. Still not sure about that though, it'd be nice to have some form of confirmation, a half-price functional Dingoo clone would be nice if that's what it is.

I?d say it?s sunplus based too, the case looks just too similar to the spmp8xxx and the jxd200.
http://www.suncomdigital.com/product_show.asp?id=414 , http://www.jxd.cc/en/Product_View.asp , i tried to collect some info here.

A "real" cheap Dingoo clone would be nice too, i.e. a hackable one.  ;D

sure, if there's a non-dodgy looking site selling one, and dealextreme doesn't count, they suck with delivery times/customer service etc

Of course. It's so you can listen to the music... TWICE!

Unfortunally you can't assume that they both function at the same time. I have another old generic MP4 which also has two, but it's only for compatibility with flight headphones, you know those with two plugs.
If you try to use it both with two pairs of headphones you'll just get the left channel on one of them and the right channel on the other.

Still we don't know how it is in this case.

nakamoto has posted about the PMP-3100, it hasn't got a sunplus chipset after all!

I bought one, the processor is the jz4725B and when you plug in pc hold esc JZ4750 he asks the driver, the bad is that it only has 16MB of RAM, but I think you can do some version of Dingux him, and the processor belongs to the same family and the drivers are compatible

The driver you need and the usbtool can be downloaded from here: ftp://grids.be/mirror/ftp.ingenic.cn/3sw/00tools/usb_boot/tools/usbboot1.4b-tools-20100304.tar.bz2

It's a mirror of ftp://ftp.ingenic.cn hosted by a developer from QI, the root being: ftp://grids.be/mirror/ftp.ingenic.cn

I'm very interested in playing with this device, if we could get dingux (or another os) to boot on it then we could have a cheap(er) dingoo which would be very nice and would grow the scene a lot.

A cheaper "dingoo light" I would say since it is jz4725 based (16bit databus) and has less memory, lacks USB host and probably some other features.

Ouch, didn't know about the 16-bit memory bus limitation. Still, a $45 Dingoo compatible wouldn't be a bad thing.
