JXD A1000 can't connect to Windows7
« on: August 11, 2014, 04:26:29 pm »
Hi all,

I just got my first JXD device (A1000). I tried connecting it to my Windows 7 PC via USB cable but as soon as I connect the USB cable, Windows throws a popup asking me to format the disk. If I say 'Cancel', it doesn't detect the JXD device (it detects a new drive, but I can't open it), and if I say 'Format', it says 'Windows can't format the disk'. Can someone please help. Is this out of the box device supposed to connect to Windows7 or do I need to install some driver?

Thanks,
- vishi

Pretty common issue actually. Windows even does this to portable hard drives every now an again.

Sometimes it's the cable having a week connection, sometimes it's that particular port being a pain. Usually after fiddling with it, plugging and re-plugging, and trying different ports, you can usually get it to work.
