Yup, and I'm surprised the screen protector is still (mostly) intact, only peeling a bit from the lower right. I remember being surprised I was able to play this on bumpy bus rides with a tower of Game Genie, Sonic & Knuckles, and Sonic 3 not toppling out of my hands. If you get one for yourself, make sure to get an AC adaptor (the one that came with the CDX is compatible with the Nomad) or invest in rechargable cells. The thing takes 6 AAs in an external snap-on pack that you have to take care not to lose (I think they made it external because there was also a rechargable power pack as well) and it can drain a fresh battery in less than 2 hours of play. This is probably part of the reason they didn't sell too well, the other being the size/weight. It's no problem for an adult's hands, but a kid probably wouldn't be able to hold one for more than a few minutes.
I play games on: Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, GBA SP, NDS Phat, NeoGeo Pocket Color, Panasonic 3DO, Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Nomad, Sega CDX w/Power Base Converter, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, PC, EGP1000, Dingoo A330, LetCool N350JP, and (soon) GCW-Zero SE.

Told ya you'd love it  ;) Everything should run just as though it's the original cart. Now all you need is a AGS-101  8)

Nice collection Yoshi, coincidentally I just got a couple of capacitors in the post today to fix the audio board on Mrs. Lemmywinks' Game Gear.
Would replace all of them but the screen has lots of dead pixels so probably not worth it. Games are dirt cheap over here though so might have to buy one of my own!

Loving the DS collection too, gonna have to bag myself a 3DS at some point.

Btw Yoshi, where did you get the screwdriver for the Torx screw in the Game Gear cart slot?

All the ones I've found have been really expensive, don't wanna pay loads to fix a knackered Game Gear!

I didn't repair them, it was done by a guy from a german handheld forum.

Anyway, here's a cheap way to open carts and consoles (just need a lighter and a pen)...

This matrix from Retro Game Fan might be useful as well...

I had a look on eBay and couldn't find one that was reasonably priced - they were all in specialist kits (I'm used to spending a quid or two btw!). It's not a standard torx bit (I have loads of those) and needs to actually go over the screw head. The 4.5mm security bits I've found have all been about £6 - £7 which I don't wanna pay considering the screen on the Game Gear is a bit knackered.

Think that trick with the lighter might work, cheers Yoshi!
