Kung Pow
(...)
Never thought I'd live to see the day Kung Pow was mentioned in the favorite movie start post. :D

Your other picks are nice too, but mainly I'm missing the Evil Dead trilogy (especially parts 2 and 3), and Braindead. But that's just me. :)

I see some very similar tastes to my own here.

Mine (in rambling 'as I remember them' order):
- Oceans 11,12,13 (Steven Soderbergh, 2001/2004/2007 - Yes all 3)
- Sunshine (Danny Boyle, 2007)
- The Spirit (Frank Miller, 2008)
- Sin City (Frank Miller, 2005 - I'm looking forward to Sin City 2. I've started the graphic novels lately. Frank Miller's style is awesome)
- Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind (2004)
- Fargo (Joel Coen, 1996)
- They Live (John Carpenter, 1988 - This inspired Duke Nukem more than you may know.. "I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick ass... And I'm all outta' gum.")
- Evil Dead movies (Sam Raimi, 1981/1987/1993 - Bruce Campbell in pure awesome, such an awesome mixture of horror and comedy)
- Batman Begins/The Dark Knight (Christopher Nolan, 2005/2008 - I'm a fan of this Batman arc over others, and prefer the Frank Miller comics)
- The Prestige (more Nolan, 2006 - Such a good movie, and David Bowie too! :D)
- Monty Python Movies (All of them, yes. I have a nice large box set :D)
- Watchmen (Zack Synder, 2009 - I appreciate the attention to detail from the comics)

... That's just the favourite movies that I can see from where I'm sat. I might update the post as I remember more :P

Now for some totally non-Hollywood movies:
Du Er Ikke Alene (English title: You Are Not Alone)
Shattered Glass
Godsend
The Hamburg Cell
Ciske de Rat (Dutch movie)
A Sound of Thunder, even though the special effects are incredibly bad.

You might notice I'm not really a mainstream person :P

Badlands (such a vacuum in that movie... stunning)
Munich (one on the two that made me cry which i presume very important)
There Will Be Blood (epic without traditional epic missteps like a lot of background storylines)
Unforgiven (oh, perfectly demonstrates that the genre of western can be only an envelope for some bigger ideas)
Груз 200 [Cargo 200] (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0847880/)
Иди и смотри [Come and See] (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091251/)
Изображая жертву [Playing the Victim] (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0820096/) you SHOULD try those russian gems.
千と千尋の神隠し [Spirited Away] (i'm not the first to mention it's time-machine effects)
Antichrist (so many ideas. a saucerful of interpretations)
2001: A Space Odyssey (a flying saucerful of interpretations)
Almost Famous (time to rock out)
Back to the Future (who could possibly not love them three?)
Children of Men (cameraman is a bloody genius)
Dr. Strangelove (that's the way to shoot a black comedy)
Se7en and Zodiac (that's the way to shoot a thriller)

Bah.
With the exceptions of "Bill and Ted" and "Permanent Record," Keanu Reeves couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.
