Sure, I can. I am, of course, a lot into MAME, which you get with Dingux, and I have 166 games that I like up and working on MAME4ALL in Dingux. As for others...well, let's see...
Have always enjoyed the Dragon Warrior/DragonQuest series on NES/SNES DQV and DQVI were originally never released in the US, they were done on SNES/Famicom...and there are English translations out there you can run on SNES9x...I find those better than the remakes of IV and V that came out later for the NDS. VI is supposed to come out, later for NDS.
DW7, of course, was for PSX, and then VIII and IX both were for NDS. Have not played past VII, though.
Another favorite series of mine is Phantasy Star, for the SEGA system. The original Phantasy Star has to be the all-time best 8-bit game ever...it's far better than anything 8-bit ever ought to be able to be. Phantasy Star 2 is my all-time fave of the series, and plays on Genesis...as does 3 and 4.
There's some other fun stuff out there, it sorta depends on what you like. I like puzzle-type games, so Qix is always a fun game for me. 80's Shooters are always good, especially Space Shooters...have you ever tried "Phoenix?"
I have never much gotten into "beat-em-ups" I just don't care for them. RPG's are one thing...there's a plot, and a REASON you are beating things up, or ramming swords into their nether regions....but the classic beat-em-ups, like "Street Fighter" never got into it, because there's no real good REASON why you are beating up the other guy...you just are...like for some macho bragging rights or something...and I just don't get that...I guess it's a gender thing.
On the other hand, sometimes, I just get in the mood to blast the crap out of things for no real reason, and a game like "Aliens" is good for that...especially since it will let you continue infintitely until you literally suck, and end up just blasting your way thru to the end in about 50 games just by mere brute force. But it's a good way to pass time if all you want to do is just blast the crap out of something.
Time Pilot, and Time Pilot '84 are always a lot of fun for me...also an old classic on MAME I really enjoy is called "Cruisin'" I could never make that one work on MAME, though, but I remembered that the game "City connection" was exactly the same game, and managed to get City connection working on MAME. This is the one where you have to drive the whole highway, on each level, you shoot oilcans at cars and bash them...catch 3 balloons to warp to random levels, and try to never hit the stupid cat!!
Anyway, those are a few of MY faves...what about you?
Great, Quite a selection there i see.
Me ?, Well i`ve not had chance to set up MAME on Dingux yet, But will when i get the chance, Usually play it on my modded original Xbox.
I do like a good platformer, Megadrives Sonic, Specifically Sonic 2 (Love the music and the fast paced action) and Sonic & Knuckles too). Wiz and Liz Hectic fast paced collect em up, Also great in 2 player mode, With bonuses collected via mixing items grabbed while playing the main levels.
Bubble & Squeak (no laughing please) I know it`s a bit of a kids game, But i like it, Just can`t put my finger on why.
Ghouls & Ghost, Classic, But very difficult game.
Krusty Funhouse (on any system),
Legend of Toki.
All the Dizzy games on the Spectrum (But they did look and sound a lot better on the Commodore 64), Classic puzzle based platform action with the usual goal of each episode of rescuing a member of his family or his girlfriend daisy from the cluches of his arch enemy Zak the wizard, Used to hate waiting for the tapes to load.
PCEngine: Parasol Stars, Great for 2 player action, As you can play with or against the other player. Lots of hidden levels, Secret areas to find and a huge amount of bonuses to collect, With cute bosses to top it all off.
BomberMan 94, Also on the PCEngine, Much better than the usual BomberMan games on other systems.
NES`s Super Mario Bro 3, Pugsy`s scavenger hunt, BurgerTime
Snes`s Putty Squad, Hilarious platformer, Has me in giggles everytime i play it.
Never been one for beat-em ups myself either, Could never pull off any of those fancy moves, Always seemed to loose, And pretty much thought, What`s the point.
I`m pretty picky when it comes to shoot-em-ups, But one that has a special place is Thunderforce 4 on the megadrive, My friend used to have it back when it first came out, And i watched him complete it on numerous occasions, But have never been able to complete it myself, But i`m still trying.
MAME has a few great shoot-em-ups that i deem are worthy of my attention, Namely Terra Cresta (Love that game, But play it on the NES too), The others i can not think of off of the top of my head at the moment.
Love a puzzle game too, Puzznic and Same game get a fair share of my attention when the mood is right.
I do like a good RPG or strategy game to while away a few hours (though i never really have the time nowadays), Settlers 2 Gold (PC), Legend of zelda- Links from the past (SNES), Zelda - Links awakening DX (GBC), Super Metroid (SNES) and Final Fantasy VII (PSX) seem to fit the bill when i do find i have enough spare time to devote to a game.
Sorry to list what seems like the entire contents of my computer`s hard drive, So i think i`ll stop there.
