Sorry for the Double post, but ...

Hey dingoo-digital-usa, do you think Dingoo Digital could make a cellphone version of dingoo?
this would be a very good excuse to always carry my dingoo with me =)

Three biggest hurdles right now

1. Getting a proof of concept console done.

2. Showing support and want for the console.

3. Getting funding to research the matter further. I have been told for 20K they would research and help design the first proof of concept version but then I would need sw dev's to help me finnish the project.

My plan is to incorporate skype or something wifi to make a phone setup doubt I would want a cell phone company involved in the matter as they would take priority over the design and function...

Would a Loongson CPU be overkill?  ;D Itīs MIPS 64 and clocks up to 1.2 ghz, itīs performance shall be quite good. Itīs used in the laptops and mini pcīs by Lemote for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemote
Wiki says thereīs even a ĩC-OS II port...  :D

I think it would be nice but then again we are talking about something that would be compatible with Dingux and current ports. I don't want to reinvent the will but enchance it and make it all it can be...

RodrigoCard I agree with you but the minute you get a cell phone manufacturer in the work with this is the  minute you loose control and they will develop it the way they want it not the way we want it

Re: Loongson compatible to Dingux?
Well, iīd say maybe, since Debian mipsel runs on this processor. And i think i read that debian mipsel apps could be run without recompiling on dingux, but thatīs been a long time ago and i might be very wrong.  :)

I'm hoping so as they are willing to help with architecture and md design to fit there processor. With any model we won't need IDE or the parellel port function but the two USB would rock

Here is what I see we need from the GodSon 2F:

660 ~ 800MHz Godson-2F processor [2.6W @ 700MHz

Onboard 64-bit DDR II memory particles, the basic configuration is 512MB, expandable to 1GB

512KB FLASH ROM memory for BIOS  (Needs to be changed to 1MB or 2MB)

INTEL FW82371EB South Bridge (Prefer AMD but beggers can't be choosey)

XGI Volari V2 display controller, supporting VGA display, resolution up to 2048X1536; support for LVDS display, resolution up to 1600X1200, 24 bit true color; on-board memory capacity of 32MB.  (Will probably make it 8MB to 16MB)

INTEL GD82559ER 10/100Mbps network controller  (Needs to be Wifi will discuss changing. Prefer Realtek)

W83977EG-AW SUPER IO controller

1 Mbps network interface

A VGA output connector  (Will have to convert to S-Video Out or HDMI Out)

1 LVDS output interface

2 USB 1.1 standard interface  (Will have to be 2.0 Standard)

2 RS232 serial ports  (Would need to be moved to 1 or omitted)

2.7 W really is quite heavy, ARM Cortex A8 needs 0.45 - 0.59 mW per mhz, so 700 mhz would take not even 0.5 W. Donīt know about power saving features or how much power the jz4740 takes though, or if these CPUs are comparable at all.
