Hey bamboori, I know it's been a while but I wanted to ask if you ever got a hold of a JXD200. I found this Aliexpress shop selling them for $50: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/China-OEM-digital-game-player-JXD200/487124229.html . Have you found them for sale anywhere cheaper?

Yeah, I'm bumping a 3.5 year old thread. Problem, mods?

Hi bamboori,

maybe you could buy JXD 200 from the following website, it's the official online shop of JXD and it's more cheaper i think.
JXD Online Shop
JXD 200
I am a JXD game console fan. I bought S7800b in JXD official online shop and it works well.

Unfortunately we're not talking about a phone, but the JXD200B "Minicoco" game.

Dangnabit. Got this message from the seller:

Quote
hello, thanks very much for your order.
sorry to tell you that we don't have this item in stock recently.
and i contacted our supplier  yesterday! they told me that they have update this version, the newest version is JXD 2000, and the price is even twice of this one.do you need that one?

sorry to bring you such a trouble, and apreciate for your understanding.

JXD 2000, eh...? Isn't that just a JXD 1000 with an antenna, stand, and TV tuner? Seems kinda useless in this day of HDTV. It could be a bit of an interesting curiosity, but not really one I want to spend $100 on.  ::)

I haven't given up on my mad quest to procure one of these retro oddities! Found a few more sellers that might still have stock:

$70
https://www.ioffer.com/i/jxd-200b-hd-nes-bin-emulator-best-mp5-camera-tv-out-509155280

No listed price, I offered the seller $40, my offer expired without being refused or accepted    :-\
https://www.ioffer.com/i/jxd200-mini-coco-2gb-mp5-720p-gamer-console-player-169118265

$51.68
http://www.yopool.com/products/JXD200-mini-COCO-2GB-MP5-720P-p-1443.html
Never heard of this shop, their website seems a bit dodgy. I was able to register an account, but got an error when attempting to sign up for their email newsletter.

Is this same clone you found in the OP, bamboori?
$29.72
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Promotional-2-8-inch-TFT-screen-PMP-player-2GB-cheap-game-player-TV-OUT-mp4-player/458385988.html
Only a few pictures showing the menus, but it seems to be a perfect hardware clone. And besides the 3 colors the original 200b was produced in, this one also comes in blue.

it seems to be the same. only thing boggling me is that i have an mp5 player with the same looking menu and all it can play is NES.
but well, if you get this one and it can play all the stated systems maybe you could send me the firmware? :p

It looks like this chipset was used in a few different devices (even by JXD themselves, the 300B is the guts of the 200B in a 'mini PSP' style case). There seems to be some inconsistency in JXD's claims of what this can play. The English page only claims "NES, BIN games" (http://jxd.hk/products.asp?id=559&selectclassid=009002001), the Chinese page (when it was online) claimed the full gamut of SPMP8k emulators "支持GBA、GB、NES、SMD、SMC、BIN、SWF等7种游戏格式" (http://web.archive.org/web/20111016183034/http://jxd.cc/products.asp?id=39&selectclassid=009009, http://web.archive.org/web/20111026015358/http://www.jxd.cc/special/minicoco), but the 300B page (both languages) only claims NES, not even BIN. Can your mp5 player play SPMP8k-native BIN format games?

Theory: only the NES emulator of the 200B was worth a damn, the emulators for the other systems were so bad they were removed from later firmware revisions. Alternate theory: a later hardware revision used a slightly different CPU that could only handle NES, only a few of the earlier models could play the other emulators.

If you don't mind the risk of bricking your mp5 player, you could try JXD's firmwares:
older I think: http://jxdhk.yesigame.com/200B.rar
later probably: http://jxdhk.yesigame.com/200B_3052C.rar
or any of these other ones listed as for CPU3052c, CPU3052d, or CPU3060: http://www.jxdofficial.com/firmware

i wouldnt really mind brickign it, its just gathering dust :p
my guess is that in older firmwares they simply didnt have other emulators ported for it. always stay positive :D
ill let you know if the upgrade works

well shoot. i actually have two of these mp5 players (both play only nes) and neither of them is upgradeable it seems. one has an inbuilt upgrade function, but didnt find the firmware on the card, the other one wasnt recognized by the flashing tool.
