Very poor JXD S7800B Benchmark results
« on: December 27, 2013, 08:13:21 pm »
Hi,

I recently noticed, that my device had very poor benchmark results on Antutu Benchmark.
I usually got about 20000 to 21000 points. But since Tans Firmware I only get 8000 to 12000 pts.
Even on 1800mhz. There are screenshots of the results compared to my higher former ones.
Has anyone noticed the same problem? Thank you in advance.

(the shot in the middle is the old,  higher one)

Do you have the governor set to OnDemand? If not, change it to ondemand and run your benchmarks again.

I even set it on performance.  One of the 8000 pts benchmarks was also set with on demand
another one with interactive.

I took a look at your screenshots.... yikes. You scored about 50% lower in every category, except 3D graphics, where you got a ZERO?!?

I really have no idea what's going on, you should ask TAN if he has any ideas.

is this on the latest supercharged 2.2.1?

i've got 21034 on tans v2.2.0 so far updating to 2.2.1 in a minute.

Edit- it's at 19989 with the latest supercharged on the 1,608 kernel (it was the 1,800 kernel before)

Does seem a little strange
But I also got a lower score in linpack when I o/c to 1800
Than a did at 1600
Running tans 2.1
Don't just go off benchmarks though
Run some games or emulators see if there is any noticeable change there
If there's not then don't worry
I don't know about you but I got my jxd to play games on and if my games play smooth
But I get low benchmark scores I couldn't care less :-)

True, for the most part I haven't benefited much from 1,400 to 1,800 because the hardest emulation I do is DS which works fine on both clocks. just happy that it plays what I want really.

Could be that the chips are throttling themselves due to high temperature when you overclock them to 1800...

are you using Kernel tuner?
If so it might be disabling 3 of the cores on you.. I tried fiddling with it a few times and it always ended up disabling cores and (appeared to) not renable when needed.

If you was benching with just 1 core that score might be about right.

Yes ,
I remember  a while back when I was using kernel tuner that just before a was going to exit program
I noticed that 3 cores were offline and I had to manually turn them on again
So good point joe

I testet Antutu with a freshly restarted device (cool) and with new 2.2.1 Firmware. I aslo notice a loss of sd card connection and A LOT of reboots. Which means I can use my device as usual, but at a time no app starts anymore and i cannot open any file on my sd card (but i can see them in file manager). I have a "good" october device, so I could use 1800mhz. When I am in emulators like Drastic or PPSSPP, the performance seems normal.

I use a 64 GB SDXC card from Sandisk. Should be the best card to use... I need several reboots to access the card again. All apps, that need sdcard access DO NOT WORK when this happens. Any Idea?

Is your card formatted to NTFS or fat32?
I only ask because my 64gb card was NTFS and I had loads of problems with it on the new firmware until
I reformatted it to fat32 then everything worked great no errors no reboots and no process.media has stopped working nonsense
