« on: June 23, 2012, 11:24:40 AM »
JXD S5100 is now in stock! http://www.willgoo.com/jxd-s5100-deluxe-gaming-tablet-capacitive-android-23-a9-4gb-p-266.html

I just installed the latest Android 4.0 v1.4 firmware. It is so cool! The keyboard input had been adjusted to the English one. I am now uploading this firmware to our service. I will bring you the download link here( www.willgoo.com/download/JXD-S5100-Andro4.0-v1.4-firmware.rar)

At the same time, I had donated one unit to Skelton. He will receive the device in these coming days. I think this genius will fix the current Android 4.0 firmware for JXD S5100. Hopely, we can make the system run better on this new device.

You guys can PM me if you need any more information on this new system. I will tell you what I know.

Indeed, its has a more beautiful appearance designs than both JXD S710B and JXD S601. Looks much like the Nintendo DS lite- from its d-pads, X,Y,A,B buttons. Unfortunately, JXD designer cut the shoulder buttons away. Below are some speficication that we test using "AnTuTu Benchmark v2.6:

CPU hardware:
AMLOGIC MESON3 8726M SKT SH

CPU MODEL:
ARMv7 processor( VFPv3, NEON)

CPU frequncy:
300-1000MHZ

Screen resolution:
800x480

GPU vendor:
ARM

GPU version( openGL):
OpenGL ES 2.0

RAM SIZE:
400MB

Android version:
2.3.4

Build number:
V1.4-20120618

KERNEL:
Linux version 2.6.34

Later, I will show the video on it. Hope it can help you guys learning it.

It seems it doesn't need overclock. That's fine, so no need for me to make Overlocked kernels, hehe. Thanks for the info.
I don't accept PM messages. I am tired of them. Use forum to consult me anything.

Yep, thanks for the info.

Personally I don't mind the lack of shoulder buttons that much, I hardly ever use them anyhow.

The d-pad looks nice.

D-PAD and buttons seem really nice. Could be a good machine for mame and Android games. Screen is capactive too as far as I know.

Skelton, thank you very much for your recommendation of the tool" AnTuTu Benchmark v2.6 ". Those information were tested under this tool. I hope it offer you a full technical details you want to know.

Everything is going well with this device. Frankly speaking, I love its " look like Nintendo DS Lite" design. I know it is very stupid to cut the shoulder buttons off.

Another thing we meet during our testing is that we can not visit the website after setting up the WIFI. Later, I will show you guys the video of it. I do not know if it is the internet problem here. I will test it again as soon as I am back to our office.

You guys can tell me what more information you need. I will try my best to post them here.

Thanks!

Hell Mr xphyle,

Thank you for your order. Till now, we still do not get the exact day when JXD will finish their testing on JXD S5100. Thus, we can not tell you when we can start your shipping. But we will keep you reminded as soon as we get back this device. I think JXD  needs to improve something for this device. We had tested the prototype. And we had reported all the problem we found to them. I am sure they will fix them to make sure customers can get a workable device.

This is very important. We will not send any testing device to our customers. So we prefer to wait till JXD really finish all testing for this new product.

Can you understand?

The problem we found are as below:

1. the device has a Chinese keyboard input. It needs to be adjusted be the English one.

2. the device gets hot very easily. The factory confirm that they put the CPU on the back shell of the device( they put CPU before the screen for the current JXD handhelds). We had reported them these two main problems.

They are now fixing these two problems. I hope everything will be OK when they start their mass production.

Is it too late for JXD to make L & R shoulder buttons for it? Please ask JXD.
