Lost my stick movements.
« on: January 15, 2014, 05:06:19 pm »
Since going back to factory settings I have lost the use on my stick.
Any one else had this issue?

On the system mapper both sticks are ticked.

Tried joystick test from play store but nothing is picked up. Not sure if dpad should aswell as button presses. They don't either.

When I plug my mouse in its picked up with button presses.

Dpad an all other buttons work in game and navigating the os.

Firmware or hardware? What's should I do next?

Cheers guys.

Continuing from the other thread

For the analogues you should see X Y for the left stick and Z RZ for the right one.

About mouse working. If you connect any USB gamepad to OTG I imagine it will work too. That is not affected by the JXD gamepad driver.

Are all the buttons working? Or maybe volume or select and start do not?

Yeah sorry I didn't want to keep bothering you with something not Tincore related so set this thread up.
Thanks for your response :)

No neither stick was picked up. Volume and all other buttons work fine.

On some of this consoles one axis is used to connect several buttons. This buttons have the caracteristic that they cannot be pushed at the same time (one cancels the other). I dont know if  the 7800 has "axis buttons".

If this is the case on the 7800 you would know that at least one axis is working and possibly the hardware fine.

Both axes failing has to be electronics or software. I wouldnt think it is mechanic. Could it be that too much pressure on the sticks broke the connection?

I see what you are saying. I dont think the connection would have broke as I have not used it since the reset, and they worked before that, well the left did, never used the right one.

Tans firmware is a base rom. If its software do you think updating the firmware could help?

I think it can help if just a firmware reflash helps. I would try reflashing stock firmware and, if it does not work, flash another.

Aren't you the one having touchscreen issues? If so man, I am sorry. That is some bad run of luck. I am surprised I am not having similar luck as I do with everything else in my life.

Try turning on show touches in developer options

Then set the mapper tool.. Can even do this on launcher

You'll be able to see joystick movement.... If there is any

Haha I am indeed!

It's not all bad bud, like I said in another post I managed to get past the touchscreen issue with a mouse and an OTG cable. Thanks to some direction from joe and a few other members on here. The device does the main bulk of what I wanted it for. Play roms on the go/on the loo :D the touch screen was just a bonus really.

As much as I would prefer the sticks to work:
? So the right stick would be able to be a mouse. So I don't have to carry one round with me! Lol
? As I prefer playing shmups this way. Which is the major part of my gaming.
I do like a Dpad with all other games though.

As far as being unlucky. Bit of optimism always makes it easier to deal with. :D

Will give that a whirl joe.

Cheers.

Can see all button presses bar the two sticks.

Will update stock firmware tomorrow and see if that helps, if not I will try tans.

Don't think anyone else has reported this who have restored to factory settings/and errased saved data?

Try reflashing stock firmware using rkbatchtool
Pick the "restore" option, back up data.. Will be complete wipe.
Probably good idea to remove SD card until done also
Good luck man, i've had trouble with my right stick but I think you the first to have dead sticks

On one of my speccy apps I would have movement when pressing the cross buttons.
The app developer suggested it was linked to an axis.
Hope that helps

I don' t think they will do that with X button. I've seen this pretty often with volume or select and start.

In that case Could it be that the pressure of the button bends the board under it making the analog move a little?

It could be his app but he was confident it was not.

no, that archive just contains all the junk they put on the "sdcard" partition when you get the unit

it'll have some cracked game apk's, and I think a handful of roms for different systems, and some sample pictures/movie/mp3

It's basically just crap to demo the unit.. has nothing to do with the units function.. it's extras

If you want it then after you flash and have your unit booted up dump that stuff on the sdcard partition
