I got a 16GB one too. Seems to me that I made a bad choice, since the one being currently modded by the community is the 8GB one. :( Some more details:

It is running 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
The model number on mine is: S7800-B-01-201410-16GB-00160.
The software version number is S7800-01-V1.5-20140605.111625
And the kernel version is [email protected] #5

Going by sandwich's post, there are no customs ROMs for the 16GB version, but it is not clear to me if I can or cannot try the fixed kernels. My common sense says no, but I'm not sure.

far as I know the 8gb roms work on the 16gb models.. the extra 8gb just ends up as more /sdcard space.
at the end of the partition scheme setup in parameter file in the firmware image what ever is left at the end is devoted to this space.

you can adjust this but most roms are setup to consider 8gb not 16, so you can a even larger chunk devoted to /sdcard which if not swapped then by default is actually a space on the nand that is setup to act as a faux sdcard.

the real sdcard being mounted as /external_sd
but by default is not useful for anything other then random file storage like mp3's and game roms.

just so you know many devices are partitioned like this. with only 1gb set aside for apps and the rest as a faux sdcard.
so it's not really exclusive to JXD.

I have exactly the same one chum & download speed etc are awful only 540mb left, fal to see the point in the 16gb version if they dont make it easy to move the apps/files to other larger partition, not happy.

Hey guys i'm having a similar problem with storage. I'm running the 16gb model but I've got a 32gb sd card plugged into it. The problem is I can't seem to direct any apps on the device to the physical sd card. Whenever I go up the "parent directories" it will only go as far as the root of the device and not further up to show the sd card there. How do I fix this cos I need to direct happy chick there so I can get it to save all the roms to the sd card.

Thanks so much for the help so far, been trying the app2sd card apps but it's still not working.
It seems to say happy chick is a "Phone Only" application -_-

This is the issue I'm having as well. The emulators already with the system have no trouble accessing the external SD card for roms and such, but with new apps (in this instance, uae4droid) I am unable to direct them to the SD card. The card doesn't appear in the directory tree within the app itself. The app is installed on the device but the roms are on the SD card and I'd like it to remain that way if possible as roms are generally the space eaters.
