Hi,

I have problem with my S5110 after latest firmware upgrade to V2.1. Maybe someone (skelton? :)) knows the solution. I had an idea, but no effect.

After upgrade, when I move my apps to SDCARD, and after reboot S5110, my apps disappear :) It means, apps still exists on apps list, but are useless and I can only remove them.

I think, maybe the problem is related to changing mountpoints for memory cards:
Before upgrade, I had 2 mountpoints: /mnt/sdcard (for internal memory) and /mnt/sdcard/external_sdcard (for external memory), so my apps was installed on internal memory, and all was OK.
And now, after upgrade, I have also 2 mountpoints, but: /mnt/flash (for internal memory) and /mnt/sdcard (for external memory), so my apps are installed on external memory, but I have problems described above.

I tried remount my memory cards, but no effect. I can't change mountpoint for internal memory, because
S5110 stop working. Also, I tried create symbolic link in /mnt directory (for example: ln -s /mnt/sdcard /mnt/sdcard_test), but the symbolic links are automatically removed after reboot S5110...

Please, help me for resolve above problems.

Regards,
Maciej

Just add the line asec sdcard to the end of your vold.fstab file located in System/etc. By the way, this is fixed in the last Skelrom.

OK, thanks for your help. I will try "asec sdcard" today evening.

Please, explain me - what is the meaning "asec sdcard"?

Maciej

Basically add the android_secure option for sdcard too. In android 4.0 some apps are installed directly in sdcard, but the vold.fstab only "secure" those apps installed in internal memory, that is why they dissappear after a reboot.

Hi,

Thank you again for your help. I added "asec sdcard" to vold.fstab and everything is OK. I installed also skelrom 1.5 - very nice ROM, good job :)

Maciej

I compile S601 leaked source with config of jxd s5110, it works with some modifications but lcd driver is missing, if you use lcd dirver for s601, all graphics are corrupted and touch senstive not work for unlock the screen.

In Linux amlogic kernel is the same, lcd driver is missing.

It is possible to run Linux with chrooted android kernel but its slow because run over android and vnc server.

Anyway in Linux I not investigate much.
ah! Forgot about some details like that, which the TV boxes don't need, and would be per mfg anyways... oh well Zero almost here so...

I probably should sell off some of these tablets/sticks that I picked up recently... not using many of them... plus I backed Ouya as well so I'll be getting one of those in Marchish(giving some slack as I wouldn't be surprised if they don't quite make the March target, just like Zero missed mid-July to mid-August target) '13...

I haven't posted in a while. Figured id update. My console is still running strong. I happily just today discovered the key mapper helper and have been using it to play some great android games that before the small screen made difficult. I was about to sell my console and this discovery has made me wanna hang onto it a bit longer. I'm waiting for a release of something dual core with gb ram and a nice gpu, like tegra3 for around 100 to 150 or something that is truly better than s5110 in that price range. I like the wikipad but heard its gonna be like 400 bux. What's everyone doing with there jxd lately? What's everyone looking to get next? Talk soon. Soup

Well the Zero got delayed again(shoddy QA on their mfg's part), so maybe I'll put some time into looking into touch screen drivers as someone apparently was able to get ubuntu on an IIRC Gemei Android handheld emulator... sure ubuntu won't help with the lack of true analog but it'd probably help with general key setup maybe, and I'd sure like to have a straight linux tablet...

Shouldn't be too bad, but I did finally get around to trying the new OCing on my rpi.  Turbo "setting" (1GHz CPU/500MHz RAM/core) but X (well lxde) is still pretty sluggish... still wishing that they had gone at least cortex-a8 and 512MB(if not 1GB) of RAM and a higher price point... e.g. $50/40.  The s5110 has more RAM and -a9, but I'm not certain that the amlogic kernel had everything to build against the mali blob -> sssllloooowwww graphics... another thing to look into.

Hello. Has somebody broken JXD S5110 with working screen? I'd like to buy it. Screen marking is "HW800480F-0B-0C-30".
P.S. I live in Russia.

Is that what the gemei one is?  It wasn't clear from the thread and last I read it, it ended on a post enquiring about the touchscreen driver...

Yeah, I know, linux running under Android would be slow, I expect it's a pseudo-VM or something and never bothered to look into it as these ARMs just are very powerful, even the -a8s and -a9s...  they're just fairly power efficient and cheap...

Last version I see in JXD webpage is 2.1.  2,2 is for s5100.
