High guys sorry to hijak fread i have a problem
Just bought a jxd5110 from willgoo and the memorey card got
Stuk in console i opened it up took out card then relised screen
Went out of calibration tryed to calibrate comes with error then tryed again same thing
Then i tryed reinstalling ics now i am stuck at calibrating screen
Just errors out at screen any help will be greatly appreciated
Can it be the screen at fault

The solution is simple and free. You just have to reconnect your touchscreen cable properly to the motherboard. If it is not connected properly, it will be very inaccurate(which is what you have) or it will not work at all. Just open it up again and reconnect that tiny cable that is below the battery area.

Unnfortunatley didnt work i striped console from top
To bottom still same problem the only thing i am thinking i
Noticed a slite kink on 1 side of the ribon
could that be the problem just noticed it
Must of happened when i cliped it back together
and i tryed another sd card still same

Ahh, crap. Then it seems like your only choice is to replace the digitizer or fix the touchscreen cable. Depending on the number of individual wires, it might be plausible to solder individual wires from the ribbon cable part before the kink to the main board.

Otherwise, get a new digitizer from Willgoo. Are the screen and digitizer separable or are they stuck together?

Hey everyone -

I've been using the S1150 for a week now and still have no idea how to get PSX emulation working.  Can anyone throw up a quick tutorial?

Thanks all!

You need to sideload FPSE. As you can't download it directly via Google Play Store you need to download a copy of the APK from another device.

To do this: Copy the apk on your SD card, then open ES Explorer (or another manager on the android device), navigate to the APK file and open it to initiate the installation.

Hope this helps,

Jan

Thanks Jan!

Can I download it on my PC from Google Market?  Then move the APK to the JXD?  I don't have an android device other than the JXD.

Thanks.

No, you can't.
You have two choice.
1) You can install Android 2.3.4 fix market with LCD Density modder pro and buy FPSE from google Play.
2) Download an old cracked copy of fpse from internet.

Hi everyone.

Sorry to hear about all the people having problems and having to open there consoles so frequently. Thats no good. I had to open it once but I took my time knowing not to expect a very high amount of durability. Thankfully I learned my lesson with the sd card and havent had to open since. Just be careful and remember what it is your dissasembling. It is far from being made of nintendium...rofl. ;)

Anyways, I have been trying to switch to the xperia play build.prop. I have skeltons custom rom based on the 1ghz ics official. I read your directions and have tried following them to what was my understanding a few times with no success or noticeable changes. If you or anyone else could walk me through it I would appreciate it. I dont understand what you meant by the system folder on the sd card. Android folder? Data folder inside that? I looked and couldnt find any file named build.prop on my system to replace with the new one.

Im not dumb, but this is probably a step above my knowledge level. This is my first android handheld that I have modified and am actually interested in. Before this my only experiance with handhelds was my modded Sony PSP.

As always, thanks to everyone here and for all your hard work and help. Without you, I would be sad face with 600mhz and original firmware.  :'(

The build.prop is in your system folder. Get Root explorer and you will see it. You need to be rooted to be able to access the system folder. I came from a PSP-3000 too.  :)

No biggie. It much cheaper at other websites. I managed to get mine for less than $75.

So, what's the best android device (S601 G16 G18 G18A 5110) as of now? Does the 5110 support standard tv-out sort of like the dingoo's? Thanks! :D

For the value, s5110 is a great machine, standard tv out is in 2.3 firmware and hdtv out in 4.0 firmware. It basically is the upgrade to jxd s601.

It depends what you want to do with your device. More functionality, higher price.

Some of those earlier yinlips have some problem with pressing two buttons on one side not working that stopped me from getting it.

The new yinlips g18a has a lot of fans with the 5 touch screen, some prefer it to the s5110 but it costs too much more for me to buy it. JXD has a couple of new models releasing in a couple of weeks.

I agree that the S5110 is unbeatable when it comes to value. Any more info about the upcoming models?

In my opinion the ydpg16 is a better value even with the resistive touch screen. It performs better and has tvout without lag. The design is better as well. It doesnt look like a psp. ICS on the s5110 is getting better but still has lots of problems with full screen and stability(even with the higher voltage kernel). The screen res on the s5110 is better and it feels a little meatier in your hands. Both are good devices for the price so if ICS or a bigger device is your thing go for the s5110.

Can you help me if JXD S5110's piezoelectric touch screen is sensitive enough to play android games, like Sparkle (a Zuma clone)?
