Probably in Android 4.0 the machine tells you that it is running at 1000 mhz, but when you do an antutu benchmark, for instance, you will see that the system performs like if it was 600, so strange thing.
Yeah setcpu says the same thing

I think they have not compiled the kernel properly for ICS, because same thing happens in ICS firm beta for s601. Or  something is limiting the cpu max speed. I'll do some research to see if something can be done.

i have to say that the description of the tech specific from JXD or Yinlips ara very funny :) i can't really understand what exactly they want to say :)
The 5110 compared to the g18A is very similar...i can say that the capacitive screen of G18a is a good plus over the jxd direct competitor...but i continue to think that jxd is "better built" or at least that's my impression...the ICS on s5110 is of course interesting, but for our emulation things i really don't know if it's a good thing...maybe SKELTON or other guys here can says something specific about it.

Anyway Skelton many thanks, this evening i will try the ROOT+MARKET on my 5110...
just tell me a thing: If you don't find a way to get rid of the underclock on the console with ICS and i would go back to gingerbread, can you supply also a flash for s5110 with a kernel with proper overclock?
thanks a lot man...

It would be great if we could have some sort of mini review from the guys that already own this beauty. I mean I've ordered anyway but out of interest (and just to increase my anticpiation a bit  8)):

- how well does the capacitive screen work?
- how do the buttons feel (compared to our beloved Dingoo)?
- what about temperature - Do you feel that the device gets hot?

Cheers

-j

I think that overlock can be done in Android 2.3, but cannot tell it for sure. But I don't know how much can the system go overclocked keeping stability. I don't have this console, so I cannot tell it for sure. But I will try.

@Skelton: Just tried your file...it goes perfectly...google play and account and root WORKING.
i really like to see the console at 1ghz, if you have any clue, please let us know...you are the deus ex machina...
I will go to the jxd and yinlips office in Shenzhen in a week, so if you think there's something to ask, please fell free to suggest me anything...

@qbertaddict: good idea ! so we can help other people here...

- the console i have have the screen Resistive, (i know it's frustrating) and i can say a little bit better than the S601 one.
- the buttons are good, like the 7100 or 610...maybe a little hard to press but i feel a good sensation pressing it
- didn't found any hot temperature in around 1 hour of play...

I found a strange bug on N64oid 2.7 (the last release) , all buttons are working in menu of games, but during play the Dpad is'nt working...very strange....

JXD product page also says capacitive, 3pt... Possibly just not a very good capacitive device?

@rastan
How's the screen quality(colors, etc.) between the S5110 and 18A?

also mixed up on the 7100 and 7100B those were actually JXD products... weird...

As to tech specs most of these Chinese companies never get them completely right(main CPU/GPU clocking) but they tend to get other fairly important bits correct like RAM, onboard storage, screen res, etc...

the screen is absolutely resistive...i don't know if there's also a capacitive one...
For sure mine isn't.
the quality is good enough, better than the 601 i think...
referred to the capacitive one of the gd18A of course there's no competition...the brilliant colours are better on Yinlips console.

Mine is a 3 point capacitive. A big improvement over the JXD 601.  I tested it with a multi touch test app from the market.  Looking forward to new developments from the folks who know what their doing.   After using it for a while I think that it may be better to have an overclocked 2.3 image -I am not a big fan of the ICS status bar always being there on almost all apps.  Wish there was a way to have it auto hide since the device has hardware buttons.

Yes, JXD product page also says capacitive. You can check it here: http://www.jxd.hk/products.asp?id=611&selectclassid=009006

And this is the picture from their website:

We had confirmed with JXD. They replied that the screen on JXD S5110 is a new touch screen between Capacitive and Resisitive. It has 3 points touch. Thus, it has a better touch control than JXD S601. You can compare it with JXD S601.

Please note that we get products from JXD. And we edit our products within their information. And now, we had updated our product page for JXD S5110. You can check it.

Please do not worry. Willgoo will take responsibility to any JXD S5110 sent by us. For any help, we welcome you PM me or just write email to: sales@willgoo.com

Thank you.
