Honestly I probably won't do anything with the original other than hang onto it just in case I need it for something else.  Where did you get a silicone case for your 602? Is there anyrhing like that available for the s5110/s5110b?

I bought this silicone case for the psp at dealextreme. You won't find any of these specifically for the jxd devices, but since the s602 is a psp rip-off this one will work with some minor adjustments cause the buttons layout is different. The s5110/s5110b had the same dimensions as the psvita right? You could search for one of these for the psvita.

Anyway i bought this one at dx:

And this is how it looks after some adjustment:

Does the aluminum foil on top of the battery, sticked to the wireless card, come with the jdx device? It looks like a home made wifi enhancer Ainol used after a guy made it on a tablet model that had short range lol (alas, I also have like that, home made, on my tablet ^^ )

Willgoo, any news about the 602b model? I've seen it on aliexpress. Price is confusing though, almost identical to the 5110b.

Update:
I have installed the 3600 mah battery using a no-solder method.   The battery I ordered had wires already soldered to it, so I very simply cut the wires of the 2100 mah battery that came with the jxd s5110b, and stripped the ends of both the battery wires and the wires that were soldered to the board.  Then I twisted them together and electrical taped around to secure and insulate them.  I folded the electrical tape over onto itself so it was sticky-side to sticky-side so that it would hold better.  I'm sure the proper way to do this mod would be to de-solder the old wires into the board and re-solder the new wires, but I am not skilled with a soldering iron and hey, my method worked!  The unit powers up and charges through both USB and the regular charge port.  I kind of gave up on trying to get a second speaker to work without crackling.  I re-soldered it and it was better and made popping sounds noticeably less often, but since I could not eliminate it completely I decided to remove the second speaker and have no popping sound.  I will try to post pictures in the next couple of days.  I'll have to wait for it to fully charge and use it some to decide how effective the increased battery is, but it should be about 70% greater battery life (so 1.7 X what it was before).  Example:  if the 2100 mah battery lasted 3 hours, this should last 3x1.7 = 5.1 hours.  Not bad at all!  Here is a link to the battery I bought:  I can confirm this fits into the s5110b with no problems.

Here is a gallery of pictures from my battery install.  I cut the wires from the original battery and left a generous amount of wire connected to the motherboard, stripped the ends of the wires from the board and the new battery, twisted the wires together, folded over electrical tape over the connections to secure and insulate, put a couple of strips of double sided scotch tape onto the new battery, and stuck it on the board just like the original.  I am aware that soldering may have produced a more solid connection with less chance of ever coming apart, but nothing should be moving inside my jxd so I doubt the connection will ever fail with my less-than-technical method.

Picture 2: The new battery on the left vs. the stock battery on the right as a size comparison
Picture 3: The new battery laid out on the board to show how it will fit - the stock battery is still attached
Picture 4: Ridiculous twisted-together wires
Picture 5: Red-wire connection has been electrical taped.  You can see the stripped black wire in the background
Picture 6: The tape I used - any double-sided tape will work provided it isn't thick foam-style tape
Picture 7: Strips of double-sided tape on the battery.  The backing has not yet been removed

Ordering my 3600 Mah battery now!

Where did you tape the battery? To the board or the back?
Would it be better to use a double sides thermal tape?

Yep, this aluminum foil has come with the device. I don't know if this is some sort of wifi enhancer, but the s602 has a really good range from the wifi, even better than my laptop.

The original jxd s5110 monocore had the same foil but I always had horrible wifi.  The s5110b dual core does not have foil tape and mine has great wifi reception.  Not having the foil taped to it means you don't have to transfer any foil tape to the new battery, making replacing the battery easier.

The board.  When you open yours it will be easy to see how it is installed.  You just need to gently pry the battery free to place the new one.

I was curious about the aluminum foil because in my tablet we had to add it manually for better wifi. Funny enough, the manufacturer in its next hardware release had the concern of puting it on too. For better results it would be better to use a COPPER foil, but aluminum is alright too. there's a thread about this in slatedroid forum, in ainol's aurora 2 section.

Sorry it has been a while but I finally got my battery in and attached

And looks like it is charging just fine

Battery life was tested by watching a movie (and looping it when it was done) with volume turned all the way up out of cheap in-ear headphones using MX players hw acceleration.

I would say for 20 bucks the battery was worth it!

Texanman,

I'm unclear, did this battery last 4 hrs, 42 min while looping the movie?
What level was the brightness at?

I am using this case

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-Travel-Pouch/dp/B006PP41Q8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1373988412&sr=8-2&keywords=vita+case

s5110b is longer than a vita. If some one is using a different case I would like to know.

They just included an app similar to directory bind. I didn't notice anything different. They updated mali drivers, but are the same mali drivers we use in the skelrom.

Thanks for checking Skel. Where do you find the change logs for the JXD updates?

I didn't find changelog. I installed it to my device, but I saw that only changed what I said before, so I returned back to the skelrom. If anyone can try this update, remember you can make a nandroid backup using CWM, so it's easy to come back to the firm you had before.
